All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Doing up a '73 CB750K

I should be stocking shelves with the rest of that freebie GS850G when I get the stuff next week. I will be giving the stuff away basically, with first dibs to members here!

I see 1 and 1/3 empty shelves....so what's the next project.:D

Re-adjusted the valves just to be sure, and synchronized the carbs with my old Motion Pro. I've had the mercury in a film cannister (remember those?) since about 1994 and it's travelled the world with me. I just rigged up my spare tank as fuel source after thinking about getting or making a bottle. This worked out fine. Then I took a 15 mile ride and it is sweet. Power is all there, certainly not in the GS's league but it's a nice smooth ride, and there are no leaks, shifting is fine, brakes work, etc. A really nice bike. I am waiting on reproduction side covers to paint the flake apricot red (a '75 color) and match the very nice tank I got cheap due to some pinholes I'll fix with Caswell epoxy.

Well, still in a bit of color limbo but I have a plan. The orange loaner tank is mine to keep and repaint properly, and I have reproduction side covers. The blue ones on it are original and I won't paint over a decent original set. I found a good source for original paint formula, and it's not too expensive even shipped from the UK.

I had some concerning oil leaks but they were just due to the gaskets settling in. I took for an hour ride and no leaks at all. I set the floats more accurately by making a gauge, and that plus replacing one of the bowls that had a cracked, leaking overflow pipe has made the bike very close to perfect. I will just re-sync the carbs and be done with it.

My pal is letting me have his dual disc and braided line setup. It definitely needs better brakes so that update will happen sooner than later.

It sure is a comfy cruiser!
