    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Dunlop tire pinholes

My rear tire loses about 5 pounds of pressure a day. The tire is 2 years old. There are 6 pinholes and I can not find any foreign objects that could have caused them. Anyone else ever have this problem ?
 
Did you hit a porcupine or something?

Sounds like it's time for a new tire.
 
Last time I went through Chattanooga, there wasn't much cactus to be seen. :-k

Have you taken any trips out west?

No I have not been anywhere near cactus. I assume I just have a defective tire and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Dunlop tires. I am thinking about trying green slime to plug the holes. Any opinions on this method will be greatly appreciated.
 
Pump it up to 50psi and spray soapy water all over it. Look for bubbles. Chances are the pinholes don't leak but the bead or valve core does. forget the green slime. Its messy when you replace the tire. Should not need that on a tire that's only 2 years old. Do you know if its got a inner tube ?

I found the pinholes using soapy water at 30 psi. Tubeless and no bubbles at valve core. I have had good success with green slime in my lawn mower but I do not ride it down the road at 60 mph :) I guess I will bite the bullet and buy a new tire. Thanks to all for your replies.
 
If it really is the pinholes and you have a resource for where it came from Id go the defective tire route and see if you can get a new one. I had 3 defective Road Riders that were all replaced by Avon.
