I recently installed Dyno Jets stage 3 jet kit and have been having problems with it stumbling while accelerating between 2 and 4 thousand RPM. i believe this is due to the float height being off. so my question is what should the float height be set to with the jet kit? if any one has used this kit and knows, or knows what the problem might be if its not the float height i could sure use the help.

Did you folow the directions? What mains did you use?? Mine ran a bit rich on the larger mains, so I droped down one size. You may have to do some plug chops to determine what's going on. My floats are set per the carb tutorial on BasCliff's site. (link in my sig)

Contact TheCafeKid on this forum.
He knows all about those kits.

Your floats should be set to factory spec.
RPMs have nothing to do with the problem. It's about throttle opening.
Also what bike is this? See my reply...

Move the needle clip position down toward the point by one slot. Try that.

Ok, now that makes sense. i'll try that and let you know how it worked out, thanks

So i changed the clip position one down toward the point on the needle but i am still having the same stumbling problem at 1/4 throttle position to about 1/2. it got a bit better but still no good. there is one more clip position below the one i am at, should i move it down one more? or is this a problem with it running to lean or something?

motorcycle?

motorcycle?

Often when excited we forget the basics please, type of motorcycle, standard air-box or pods? This will help give you the information you seek.

With k&n pods and a Basani I used the larger mains and the needle where you are now but I believe I could have gone a bit leaner...

Are your carbs clean? O rings replaced?

if i cant fix the problem by moving the clip on the needle down one more position i think larger mains are my next option. From what I've gathered from talking to others is that increasing the main jet size would fix the issue. supposedly the stage 3 kit is for aftermarket exhaust with stock air box, but since i'm running aftermarket exhaust and pods what i really need is a *stage 7??? kit (i think that's what he said) because it has the larger mains. I'm adjusting the clip position tomorrow i'll let you know how it does.

from closed to 1/2 is pilot jet issues as well, but if you moved the needles it prolly needs bigger main jets

make sure the rubber diaphragms are sealed!!! (make sure the hole in the slides is clear and the right way as well)

so i finally fixed the problem...or at least made it much better for the moment. i tried moving the clip to the position closest to the point on the needle jet but that actually made it much worse. so i took it apart again and instead went one position up above what the manual said to set it at and that cleared most of it right up. probably wont need new mains after all. when i have the bike apart again i'm gonna move it up one more and see if that clears it up completely.

Not that I blame you but it sounds like you're not listening. :-)
You're simply trying to set your bike up as quick as possible.

The link I sent you above would seem to make sense because it takes a methodical approach. What you're doing is guessing. Have a look at the link, tackle the issue with the Main Jets FIRST and then move forward. You need to dial that in before moving to other parts of the carbs. Otherwise, you'll be tweaking things haphazardly without any clue as to why you have scag in certain areas of the band, not being happy when it's warm or at certain RPM.

You have leaned it out the way you have gone now...

Stage 3 is for decent pods such as K&N (not emgo rubbish) plus aftermarket pipe
