A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Had to pop to the post office today, the GS is off the road for overhaul, so I thought it would be good to give the Royal Enfield a little run. Had just parked up and was taking my helmet off, when I heard a voice behind me. Well I`m used to the old boys coming over for a chat when they see the Enfield or the GS, but when I turned around, there was this white haired little old lady with a zimmer frame. We got chatting, turns out she used to race bikes in the early fifties, mostly Nortons, but over the years she also had owned Velocettes, Triumphs and a couple of Royal Enfields. Her late husband had also raced Nortons too. She really knew her stuff too !. I had to get into the post office before it closed, so could`nt natter too long. The old dear did`nt want to stop talking bikes, but I got away eventually and she shuffled away. Quite a character, last person on a street I`d think was an ex biker !.:)

............
little old lady with a zimmer frame. .......

Interesting story.

Translation please on "zimmer frame".
Maybe what we call a "walker"..?

Thanks for popping my picture, I figured a Zimmer must be some exotic old race bike frame or something.

Hmmm Zimmer? reminds me of Hummer or Beemer. Not a walking aid:rolleyes:

Hi Mr. tomo,

I would have gotten her number. I'll bet that little old lady would love to have a young whipper snapper like you to talk bikes with. Old folks are a trip and some of them are a real treasure. It sounds like you had a pleasant encounter.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Sorry guys, never thought the term zimmer frame was just used over here. Yes, it is a walker like the picture Redman posted. Wish I had`nt been so rushed, I could have listened to her all day, she had some really interesting stories I`ll bet. Should have got her contact details in hindsight, but good chance I`ll see her again though as I live in a small town, only the post office, one shop and a couple of pubs. I don`t feel like I`m a young whipersnapper though Cliff, just turned 54 today. Just to make things worse, got a letter from the Doctors saying I have reached an age where they want to check me out for blood pressure, heart disease etc, that really made me feel old !!.
