    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Are not always welcome.,:beaten::beaten:

This million-dollar yacht seemed to have some built-in desire to qualify for a spot on the list of others that got their respective "15 minutes of fame" as that is how long it remained above water after its first launch.

Maybe next time the owner could try riding a motorycle across the water
....it has been more successful than his boat...and also in Turkey.

If they'd put in enough ballast to counter the over-indulgent upper decks, the damn thing would have just sunk on launching anyway.

Ship's architects follow basic stability laws even when they are being creative . It will be interesting to see what comes of the investigation ... There are two types of ballast . Water for trimming and hard ballast built into the ship . I don't know what happened but I can speculate .... Had it been launched with no water ballast it would have bobbed around . But it turned turtle making me suspect that somehow the hard ballast wasn't installed . I find that difficult to believe but it is the only reason I can see ...... Top heavy design would have been addressed by the ship's architect during construction using stability laws ..... So either the designer missed a decimal point or the hard ballast wasn't built in ......

Maybe someone forgot to put in the drain plug?

I'm leaning towards either a hull breach or possibly a ballast pump that was installed or wired backwards. If it had two separate water tanks for ballast and one filled while the other didn't that would certainly make the boat list the way it did. Ship architects DO make mistakes but let's face it, this one would need to be a major league screw up.
