    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

    Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm a first time customer with these guys. I ordered some new intake boots and clamps, a valve cover gasket and a breather cover gasket. UPS delivered the package this morning which makes it six business days since I placed the order. They send an email notification with tracking number once your order ships. Overall I'm pretty happy with this transaction as far as prices and the length of time it took to get my stuff. I recommend this vendor for Genuine Suzuki Parts. I give Flat Out Motorcycles a two thumbs up.

Based on positive feedback here I just ordered some parts from them as well.

Sounds like they're stepping up their game a bit! \\:D/

They used to be very slow and offered absolutely no communication, but that seems to be changing. Good to know!

What were your shipping costs?
 
I ordered a stator cover and gasket. $14.50 on shipping.

Have not heard anything as yet. They probably had to order.

I just place my second order

I just place my second order

with Flatout. I tried them kind of unresearched at first, then after reading some negative comments here I got worried about them being mom and pop. It turns out there are a pretty big operation with an internet sales department. Chris is the internet sales guy for Flatout. His number is 317-882-Bike.

I just placed another order with them yesteday. I called to get a question answered about a started clutch part number for the 83 GS1100E. Chris contacted Suzuki and got back to me.
They are very cheap for OEM parts. They are perfectly respectable and not a small mom and pop running out of the basement.

I'll update this post if anything changes but they are now my main source for OEM parts, and their website micro-fice parts finder is much faster than Bikebandit that appear to be using a x286 server for their website. Since they are in Indiana, it is a little further from me and takes a little longer for shipping but I'm saving close to 20% on parts relative to Bikebandit \\:D/.

Continuation from above.

Email from Flatout today. parts shipped yesterday 2-20-08. Tracking # supplied and I even figured out how to use it. Scheduled delivery is Monday.

I used flatout on my last order of OEM parts and was happy with them. The only complaint I had was that they required a signature with UPS delivery. I shouldn't complain to much, I saved at least 15% over www.alpha-sports.com.

My parts showed up today.

Ordered 2-15-08. Received email then. Got another when shipped on 2-20-08.

Parts arrived today. Packed very well. They smell new. \\:D/

I am recommending them to all.

Flat Out is a large Suzuki dealership about 20 minutes from my office. They're perfectly legit, and Chris is an actual real live human being who will handle problems and make things right if needed. He also pops in here on the GS forum once in a while.

Let me know if I have to go down there and get medieval on anyone... :twisted:

BikeBandit charges about 10% - 15% more on their parts, but their shipping charges are usually much less than anyone else. They charge a flat $7.95 shipping on all orders over $20. You can also order a lot of other stuff from BB at the same time, like Honda or Kawasaki parts, bearings, tools, etc. This is often quite convenient.

I generally use Flat Out for large orders $150 and up (I pick up the parts in person to avoid their somewhat high shipping charges, although I have to pay Indiana sales tax) and BikeBandit for smaller or mixed orders.
 
I also placed my first order with them recently. Even with the in state sales tax (for me) and 9.50 shipping charge they were still less than the other parts places recommended here for the overall total. I ordered front calipers and three other obscure rubber & plastic bits but my order still shipped within 7 business days. Since I am a cheapa** I usually price three or four places and Flatout has been cheaper or within a dollar every time. I had a not so good Babbits experience a while back and will still shop Flatouts prices but if they are close I will use them for the good service I have had so far.
 
I ordered a set of gaskets from them since they were much cheaper than BikeBandit, and they got me an email out when the order was processed. I never got a tracking number from them, and haven't gotten the package yet. I'll email them and get it I hope, they've been pretty good so far, I'll give my final word when my package shows up.

Very convieient and actually better than an e-mail that gets lost.

Got my gaskets in last night, a little much on packaging for 2 gaskets and some cam plugs, but whatever. Everything came in a timely manner and I'll probably order from them. I won't be going to the dealer ever again since they "probably don't even make parts anymore for something that old". I've got moles older than these kids.
 
iv orderd probly 10 orders thu them and never had a problem it did take awile to get 1 order but the shipped it with my next order and only charged shipping for 1 order. remember there a dealer and not a ware house they have to wait for the item to be shipped to them then they ship it to u.
 
Ordered a new tachometer cable and tach drive gear seals for my '82 GS850L on 3/6. Shipped on 3/12. Arrived today 3/14. I love these guys!
