A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

FortNine Lane filtering

Then they ain't doing it right...lol

That was the point. There are many, many of them that do not have a clue how to do it safely.

I am not a stranger to it as I have done it and have seen it done probably thousands of times over the years, but 2025 is exceptional: I have seen so much really stupid behaviour that they must be close in number to the total of stupid acts I have seen over many years. I see this o n residential and main streets and also on highways. including along the shoulders. They are everywhere.

I'm not likely to ride in Minnesota any time soon:p

I do. and get to watch it first hand

My commute to work is 6 miles with 6 stop lights 45mph. Stop lights is where I'm seeing it most. Even on busy days where it might be 10 cars deep at a red light its always bike to the front. My worry is a car making a last-minute lane change with a bike right next to them. I'm gonna just stick to my spot in line.

That's a common "worry"....but if they are filtering to the front while cars are stopped...they essentially are bumper to bumper....therefore no way to change lanes while the bike is filtering....I have done it so many times and I tell my fellow riders doing it for the first time to be extra careful where there is a gap between cars where a car could make a lane change.

This, exactly. Even though the law allows for filtering to the front when traffic is slowing to under 15 mph, I generally wait until all the stopping is done before moving to the front.

Yes, but even if it's slow, the cars are likely to be pretty close to bumper as well...I understand why some people are hesitant but once you do it it you realize just how awesome it can be....every time we take a new guy to California with us and we talk about the ability to filter they always say "hey guys I don't think I'll feel comfortable enough to filter but you guys go ahead"...then we get to the motel and they are practically jumping up and down in excitement saying "that was one of the best motorcycle experiences I've ever had....I felt very safe doing that...in fact much safer than sitting in traffic". :)

If you legalize it then you can teach it..... Then people learn to do it properly. Problem solved ;)
