Hello I am new to this site but have been reading threads for a couple of years now. The problem I have is the ignitor/CDI for my 1980 gs1100e was put on a direct short one day while I was doing some testing on my bike. It started smoking and got real hot real quick, but I was able to take it apart clean the wires up and it does still work but I'm worried about it failing when I start riding. This has been my project for a few years just slowly moving. It's not far from being done. Anyways I have an early 90s model katana 600 with a good CDI and I'm wondering if I can wire that into my 1100 system without any issues or do I need to find another for my exact bike any help would be much appreciated
