A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Front master cylinder won't fit on clipons

So I'm at the end of my caf? build and after installing the controls and grips on the right clip-on last night it didn't leave much room for the front master cylinder and was about one inch short. I have the rectangle shape MC so could I switch to the round MC as they appear to be a little smaller in the mounting width?

Thanks,

So it looks like if I do keep the rectangle MC it will fit on the clipons, but the concern I have is the angle in which the fluid will be since they will be mounted on clips ons. If you have the bike sitting straight up and down the fluid will basically be all the way to the right of the MC which is the opposite side of the port down to the brake lines. Would this introduce air in the system? It seems like with the round MC the angle isn't as much of an issue since the hole is center of the MC.

you need a m/c that is pretty much level when bolted to the bars. slight angle won hurt but not to much. fill the reservoir and bolt it to the bars. turn the steering both ways and see if the fluid stays covering the holes all the time

Sounds like you need a MC with a remote reservoir. I've got one from a GSXR 750 on my CB650 fitted with ace bars.

You'll need to make your own bracket to make on fit. Dead easy - just a couple of holes and a couple of bends (though added a curve on mine as well). The MCs are common on Ebay and I paid peanuts for mine.

or just get a slanted one, from an early GSXR, they had clip ons as standard and had angled m/c's to suit.
