A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all

I am trying to put the gas tanks back on the gs650 shaft drive 1983 model

I thought I had an understanding of the connectors.

On the AUS model there is the petcock and then the other side has the fuel send module (I think)

I think the connections are as follows:

1. petcock (big hose from carb, and small hose from carb)
2. Fuel sender module (two electrical connectors)
3. Fuel send pipe (I am not sure where this goes)

When I put fuel in and turned it to reserve the fuel was coming out from a small pipe that I am not sure about (any ideas)

Further Update to my stupidty

1. petcock
big hose from carb that goes to a connection on the back end of the carb
small hose from carb front of the carb

2. Fuel sender module (two electrical connectors)

3. Fuel send pipe (I am not sure where this goes)

Another pipe from the carb front I think that I am not sure where this goes onto the tank

When I put fuel in and turned it to reserve the fuel was coming out from this small pipe that I am not sure about (any ideas)

Your carbs should have 4 hoses
1. large hose to petcock(fuel hose)
2. small hose from #2 carb to petcock (vacuum hose)
3&4. Vent hoses that hooked to T between carbs that are draped over air box

Your tank has
1. Petcock with 2 nipples, 1 large to carb for fuel, 1 small to vaccuum port on #2
2. electrical connector for fuel sender/gauge if your bike has one
3. over flow tube - long tube that you route away from carb area, usually exits near swing arm in front of the tire.
