Gasket set, black rubberized washer?

Does anyone know where the black rubberized washers go that come with a gasket set? There are 4 of them.

Two on the cover for the oil distribution cavity (where the oil pressure sensor screws into). I think another is used on the cam chain tensioner rub block, and I'm not sure where else, cam chain tensioner maybe (or similar).

I guess I should have asked does anything go between the copper on my cylinder head gasket?

I would have replied this morning but expected at least a few dozen replies by now. Sorry.
It looks like you figured out that they go on the outer four studs.

They seem to move around. Does the gasket go on first then the washers on top?

Can you post photos of the washers you are referring to? I thought you meant the small metal washers with the rubber in the middle, but it seems this was incorrect.

they are metal with rubber in the middle. Do they just sit on the copper. I tried to post more but the system would not let me.

I have no experience with those seals but it certainly appears that they would fit around those outer cylinder studs. Not sure why they would lay on top of the copper though.

I have no idea where those washers would go, but they do not sit on top of the copper washers located in the head gasket. There should be four o-rings that fit inside the copper washers.

I assume this is an aftermarket gasket set?

Well, I'm flummoxed. No clue where those seals go.

More importantly at this point is am I missing some seals that go inside the copper rings.

Hi rustybronco, do you see the picture that I posted that had the one washer, that washer has rubber on the inside. The outside of the washer does not fit inside the copper does it sit on top or should it fit inside?

There should be an o-ring or similar that fits inside each copper washer.

I had first noticed that from one of your other pictures. All of the pictures that I have been able to find show the head gasket without those washers so I assume they should have come separately with the kit. The washers that I did get do have rubber on the inside and look like they may be intended for this purpose however there is know what to make it fit inside the copper ring it would have to sit on top and that does not seem correct. Well that puts a stop to the work I wanted to do over the Holiday weekend.

Is it possible to trim the metal edge of the seal so it would fit inside the copper ring? How thick is the metal on the seal anyway? What is the origin of this gasket kit? Dale asked if it's aftermarket but didn't see a response. If aftermarket, what brand?

It is after market I believe Vesrah purchased from Z1, Is it possible that the reason the copper is there is to negate the need for the rubber o ring?

Maybe you don't need the O-ring. Maybe the overlap of the metal lip of the seal onto the copper ring is okay. Maybe you will get leaks. That's the quandary when you get into aftermarket gaskets. Lots of maybes.

Suzuki changed the design of the head gasket and seal quite a few times over the years. I believe they have now gone to MLS style head gaskets which do away with both those stud seals as well as the rectangular O-ring around the cam chain tunnel. I'd put blind faith in Suzuki's gaskets, but not aftermarket. Again, maybe you can trim the metal lip of those seals so they fit inside those copper rings. If that's the case then I'd roll the dice on them. If not, more study is needed.
