Man you are brave with everything you're tackling at once on this project! I take my hat off to you!

it s, i think, the foolish bravery of a young naive man :D
hope i wont bite my own ass.

i think i ll try not to take anything more out of the frame before finishing the carbs :p

Quick update :

Bought :
engine's complete gasket kit from Vesrah, these will have to do, used the brand once before, was happy with it.
carbs float bowls gaskets.
Stainless screws for carbs
O-rings.

Started to fix, while at home in my apartment, the gauges back cover,
big big crack there, did some plastic welding with some black Tie wraps and my solder iron, then some epoxy putty, sanded it down, worked like a charm, for 0$ :)

more to come this week end!!!

Yeah I though plastic welding would be way harder than it is.Great stuff going on there!

thanks guys!

So, today's ! :)

after the plastic welding (sry no pictures of the process! didn t have the camera with me!) and the epoxy i was not happy enough with the smoothness of the thing, so i worked with some bondo and 300 - 600 grit.

Your moving right along and it's looking great!

Contact your local Suzuki dealer and buy OEM Suzuki gaskets for the engine!!!!
Especially on the base gasket and head gasket!! It's gonna be a real PITA to replace those Vesrah gaskets when they start leaking and they will. It's worth the extra money to use OEM engine gaskets, I'll make my own ignition cover gaskets or use aftermarket on a valve cover gasket, but never anything other than OEM for the rest!

ah... damn.
have a couple of friends that have been using Vesrah gasket kits on multiple engines with no issues, i did use the brand once myself (not on a street bike). Are you telling me this brand is bad on our GSs??!

if so, i ll try to buy base and head gaskets then.

I still have my old ignition if you want it, has a good cover if you think you can salvage that part. Although you probably have one on the parts bike...

Very sharp.
I like the results on the footpeg brace. That looks great.

Wow, you have been busy, progress is moving along well, and some good work you are doing there, she is going to be super sweet when she is done.
Keep up the good work.

Details... Deatail... Details! Nice attention to the stuff some people overlook. Keep up the good work and it will pay off in spades in the end.

wow, thanks guys!
I am glad you like it so far, would not be able to do all that without all of your rebuilds that i read every weeks, that s where i get most of my motivation to go deep into details.

by the way, title are done! she is officially mine now :D, yay.

No, i don t have one on the parts bike! So i need to find one :)
Would be awesome if i could salvage yours!

Yeah, I would stay away from their base and head gaskets. Use OEM, it's not that expensive. Love all the pics and detail!

He doesn't have to worry about the base gasket leaking, this style of engines get their top end oil supply thru external lines.
