Someone correct me if i'm wrong but it doesn't matter the colors of the wires coming from the stator. There is no certain color code the way the wires connects to the r/r if you are connecting the wires straight to the r/r.

As long as you have three wires, it's cool. Most aftermarket stators are all yellow.

My GS850 is wearing a stator from a 2001 GS500. :D

WOW.

Nice find. I might just take that burned up stator from my Voyager and play with it a bit. :D
I had no idea that they might even be close, let alone interchageable.
I wonder why it did not mention the 84-86 Voyagers? :-k It was the same bike. And ... there was no 82 Voyager 1300. :-k

Paps, unless there is some sort of size reference in the picture, a LOT of stators will look the same. The mounting holes might be in a different size circle, the overall diameter of the stator might be a bit larger, the thickness might be a bit more, you just can't tell. And, for those bikes that we know can be swapped, the different part numbers might be due to a different length of wire or a different shape to the rubber plug that fits in the outer cover. The stator itself will be the same.

.

thanks fer the welcome n the werds a wisdom bros...ill keep ya posted on wud i find..thanks again paps..

I might mention that "the stator fits" does NOT mean "It plugs right in".

You have to make the connection to the wiring harness yerdamself. Which is better anyway -- either solder or use a high-end crimper to install spade terminals. Or both. :D

These wires carry a lot of current, so make sure the connections are bulletproof, or they will overheat.

well got the 81 gs650e stator,,,case is differnt but stator is same,,so 1st yes there the same stator..so i wiped it in n dayum it still the same..well then i decided test meself n i followd the stator paper tests..seems i now have two good stators ..the ohm readins were 1.2 n the ac volt test they all read 80-85 fergit but was fine..but in the tests i shoulda nevar went past the2 nd testblack multi wire ta + batt etc..cause its like 2.3 n papers say bad connection fum reg to + battery..well it hasta be in the reg..cause all else looks good..so anybody wanna buy a used 80 850 18 post stator 25 + ship..back ta prolem..seems red wire fum regulator git purty warm n since went ahead with all the tests n stator read good volts high res.is o on both stators..it has ta be the reg.(which i did say has ta be in 1st place ..to bro that is) ol harleys tend ta eat em too..seldom do a stator go bad..so where do i find a elcheapo but last ferevo regulator fellas??? thanks paps

we tend to replace our r/r with a honda r/r. Use the search function here and there is a list of r/r's that have tested to work of our suzuki's. Or, contact duaneage here and he might have one that will plug into your bike. He is the man with r/r's here.
