DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Exquisite Motorcycles

As I was heading to the slot tracks in Canton, since it was Saturday, I figured I'd stop by Action Yamaha/Suzuki in Alliance to check out (drool over) the 5 mile 791000S. While chit chatting with the counter lady, she told me I should check out the 500 that a customer just dropped off. After going through some "employee only" doors I made my way back to the service department. Wow, a fully restored T500! (not sure of the year) Actually it my be over restored. Even has the tank rack! What a beautiful motorcycle. What a beautiful day! 🌞

Here is another picture that shows the tank rack. Now I totally do not like Tank Bags on any of my motorcycles, but a tank rack on my 850g would be great! ☺

Spotted the twin to my red 83 750E the other day. Only a block from my house. Unfortunately, he was heading the opposite direction or I would have tried to pull him over for a chat.

2500 miles on clubmans with no biological breakdown!

Actually, for that rider, it looked like a reasonable posture for highway speed. Especially on the rear pegs.

We were eating dinner at Frank's Chicken And Waffles last night and two vintage GS's rode by. It was near another member's house, but neither belonged to him so I really think that was just coincidental.

The first was a red 82 or 83 GS 750 or 1100E. The second was an even quicker glimpse of an older model, cafe type build with a black tank and the typical big empty space between the engine and rear wheel.

My back was to the road so I was rubbernecking to see these bikes. That red one was a beauty from what I saw. Glad to see these being ridden.

Saw at autozone when passing bye, but had to get to an appointment. Saw it yet on return trip when had to get somewhere also, but took time to stop to get pics. THought I should make some more of the GSR cards to carry with me.

Engine looks to be 83.
General size of engine, and the cam caps make me thing 650, .... 83 GS650G.
I suspect maybe GL but front forks dont look like it.

Maybe sometime I might see again and have time to stepp inside.

On my ride this evening (first time that had GK out since our mishap 12 weeks ago), I caught up to two bikes, one looked like a 70s vertical twin and other a GS.
One of them had a bandanna fly off, so we stopped along side of road.

THey had jackets with patches of something like "Oil Leakers" (round patch, no rockers, no MC). Said had just put the old Bates bags on the GS for a recent round-the-lake trip.
Just chatted quickely, I took a quick picture, they said were on way back to Grand Rapids, I said I was about to turn around back the other way. I did have a GSR card to give. And then we were back underway.

I've waited a while but finally uploaded this pic on PB. We visited Dublin, Ireland in March of this year (2019) and I saw this little GS with some contraption on the back.

Pizza delivery guy?

Buahahahahahaha!

Maybe???

Perhaps a Grubhub delivery service?

I love that the little GN125H has a single front disc and rear drum brake.

EDIT: Review from here: https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/suzuki/gn125/1994/

With incredibly low running costs, modest but useful urban performance and funky retro looks, the Suzuki GN125 is an ideal about-town motorcycle or learner bike. Incredibly easy to ride, with a reliable engine and minimal maintenance, the Suzuki GN125 is forgiving and a great confidence-builder. Lousy brakes and finish let it down a bit but, for a real world workhorse, the Suzuki GN125 is a bargain.

Dublin, Ireland in March 2019 was surprisingly warm!

Ed

EDIT: I thought the piece of material on the one end of the handle bar was a balaclava...maybe a hand warmer but they weren't needed that day.
