A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi all, I'm wiring up my GS1000 build, I'm using a GS L model harness, and the problem I have is that I don't have a turn signal control unit, looking at the Haynes manual it seems that it should have 2 connectors on this unit one with 4 wires and one with 6, however the only ones I can find on ebay only have one connector. I would appreciate any advice on what to do, I could leave off the indicators but really want the bike to be totally standard, exhaust apart, many thanks in advance Wayne

It sounds like you need a TSCU to fit a 78~79 GS1000E or a 79 GS850G. Not very many good working units of that style around. I have a few partially working units, but no firm way to test them at the moment to see if I have a spare unit that will blink both sides.

What year harness are you working with?

Have a look at this in the mean time for a 78~79 workaround... http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=15195&d=1323780825

Thanks for the reply mate, is the TSCU the same thing as a self cancel unit as there's one of those for sale on ebay at the moment in UK. Cheers Wayne

Yes it is.

Be very cautious if you are buying any used unit off ebay.

Cheers he scores it as 9/10 and I can always get my money back if it doesn't work as he states in description that it is in good working order, have bought few items from him and he seems sound.

Wayne be a bit careful and get your guarantee before you buy - that thing looks as if it's got mushrooms growing out of the side of it and Gary's idea of 9/10 is a lot different to mine. I have given up buying stuff from him.

Would you please provide me a link to the unit you both are referring to?

Hi attached is a picture of said item, the ebay number for it is 300611157381 cheers Wayne

Wayne, If you were the one who bought that control unit and it ends up not working, PM me, I might have a partially working unit in my collection.

Cheers Rusty will let you know if I run into any problems, thanks for all the help:)
