A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm working on a new build and have run into some issues with the gs500 swingarm that I had intended on using and am now exploring other options.
Has anyone modified an aluminum gs1100 swingarm to use a monoshock? Or what is the preferred swingarm to use in this case?
This is for a gs650e and I have used a 1100 swingarm in the past on a 550 with conventional shocks so that part is easy.

Thanks

I have a 550ES with factory mono-shock set-up that might fit but it is pretty long. Have you looked into using an 1150 swing arm/shock assembly?

I'm also looking to stick with an aluminum unit, which narrows the selection significantly.

Reporting in after a full day of research.
I haven't found anyone who has modified a 1100e swingarm for a monoshock.

The dimension that matters the most is the width at the pivot.
Some narrow swingarms that I considered:

The bandit swingarm would be an easy swap.
zrx swingarm
an aluminum versys or steel en6r swingarm might work with some frame shaving at 9 9/16"
also found that a lot of gsxr stuff will fit but no definitive list.

Posplayr has a bandit swinger... took some special bushes from memory. He had eyes added for Twin shock but I think Mono would work too..

Thanks, I'm going with a gsxr600 k6 or 7 swinger which measures 225mm at the pivot.
