    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Finally got everything together and was able to get a ride in first thing this morning. The fuel tee is leaking and I kind of expected it, just seemed to be a bit too easy to rotate it after the fuel line was attached. Checked the parts fische and it doesn't show any o-rings and neither the manual or the rebuild instructions I found on the cycle orings site mention using any kind of sealer. I'm going to take it apart, should I be looking for a new tee or use sealer? TIA.
 
Why not use a zip tie to tighten around it or some other kind of clamp instead of a sealer that may potentially cause you to end up buying a new tee anyhow. If you have the length would it be possible to maybe cut an inch or so back on the fuel line to get past the old stretched end?
 
not sure if it is a rubber coated one or the o-ring type, but the "right" answer is to replace (you know that....) BUT....some have had success with a temporary fix of a couple healthy wraps of teflon tape......

Yeah, replacement would be best. It's a good way to get to a shop and ordering would take a week. Gonna head to the hardware store and grab some Teflon tape, wanna get on the road and hopefully that'll work til I get a new one. Thanks to both of you for the quick reply.
 
Often times soaking the Tee in gasoline will swell it enough to seal the leak. Some guys take a razor blade and cut off the rubber coating bumps down to the metal and then install real O-rings. Teflon tape would be last resort to me.

I'll keep that one in my pocket for now. After sitting 22 years it just may swell back up, there's no abrasion on it what so ever. The neighbor had some Teflon tape so it's wrapped and ready to try. The oring idea seems to make sense, if this doesn't work I'll shoot for the your suggestions. Thanks for the input!
 
If you wrap it will teflon tape fuel can't get to the rubber and make it swell.
