Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS450 Official Service Manual PDF

I hope everyone is well and keeping occupied. Although I have hardly posted, these forums have been an awesome resource while I've been working on my GS450 over the past year. One thing that was a problem was the rarity of the official service manual. The Clymer manual is fine but it doesn't cover everything. I was ready to buy a digital copy until I found a sealed physical copy (from Hawaii of all places) for sale.

This is the 1990 8th edition which covers every GS450 from 1980-1988. It got wet at some point but luckily that didn't come through much in the scan. I have scanned each page, added page labels, and made the text searchable. I am not a PDF master so it isn't perfect, but for something that wasn't openly available before I am happy with the result.

There are two versions:

1. The "GSResources" version is the normal release. It is compressed and uses Acrobat's Clearview ability to shrink the filesize. It basically traces all of the text so in theory it can create some oddities. I flipped through it and didn't see any, but if anyone notices any flaws please let me know.

2. The "Archive Quality" version has not been compressed and does not use Clearview. It is nearly identical to the raw image files. It is, however, 380mb.

Hopefully this manual is helpful for someone. I know I'm glad to share it!

Brother, this is awesome. Thank you so much! I'm loving the engineering description of the counter-balance system.

Awesome! That's one of the key manuals Basscliff doesn't have!

Thanks heaps for that! I have a re-print of a genuine manual, but it's somewhat different to this PDF... the 450 is an addendum so it's great to have the full 450 focused manual.

I tried e-mailing it using the address on his site, but it bounced as spam (which is weird, I use Gmail). If anyone is in touch with him it would be great to get this on the site.

Try member bwringer? I think he might be in touch...bikecliff has been awful busy in his "basscliff" persona.

Awesome!!

Thanks so much for sharing the service manual. Much better than the Clymer
