A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

gs650m katana owner from belgium

Wouter

Forum Newbie
Hi,
some time ago (12 years) I had a gs500m. There is still some info here: https://www.thegsresources.com/_for...s-rebuilds/47650-building-a-gs500m-velorex562

Almost 10 years I had no bike. Life, work, kids,...
But about 2 years ago while browsing the internet I stumbled upon a advert from a motor spare parts seller. They had a gs650g m ready to become parts. I called for some info. I agreed to buy. That was 2021. We did some things but some more work is needed to get it in tiptop condition.

I will open a project topic about bike.

Welcome to the site, Wouter.
Don't see many of those mid-size Kats. I wonder if they ever made a chain drive version of the 650 Katana?

I had an older version of that Velorex for almost 10 years. I traded it for a really nice Toyota Celica (1973),, I regretted doing that, just as I regretted trading the Celica for a 1969, mint condition Chevy Panel van, extended body, all metal, only front and side front windows. The list goes on. Those Velorex side cars can carry quite a load, and really don't affect the bike too much, though it does stretch out the Hyvo chain on smaller bikes. They are great. If I come across another one, I will get a bike and make a leaning rig out of it, where the bike leans and the sidecar stays upright, very easy to do. I showed my wife a picture of a trike, with a small wooden pickup body on the back, she wants me to make one of those now. She feels it would be safer. I chuckled. ;)

Thanks, Alfa.
I wish back in the day they would have sent the 400cc model to Canada. I had an '83 1100 and would have loved a baby brother.

Hi Wouter, welcome to GSR. You mentioned you will start a "Project Topic" for the bike, what do you have planned for it? You are ahead of the game already, you have posted a photo, photos are very popular here.

Cheers.
