I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

GS750 8v crank bearings vs GS1000/550/etc (o.d. size)

I didn't realize until doing a cross reference that the 5 identical GS750 crank roller bearings were no longer available from Suzuki!!!! I know they are rollers and seldom ever wear out, but what a bummer. The GS400, 425. 550, 850, 1000, and I think the GS1100G and GS650E all share the same bearings but the 750 being the first GS model to roll out was quite overbuilt, hence the only one running these massive crank bearings.

I stumbled upon this wondering if a GS1000 crank and top end and clutch basket could swap onto the GS750 crankcase with it's kickstarter and straight cut gears. Anyone have any idea if the outside diameter of the GS750B/C/N 8V 5 main crank bearings is larger than the GS1000 and all other models? They all share the same right end crank bearing with the 750, but the rest of the bearings are different on the 750 whereas all the other roller bottoms use the same bearing.

I guess I will just have to start parting out every junk 750 I find and hoard a bunch of the engines!

If anyone has an 8v 750 crank laying around, and has a GS1000, GS550, etc roller crank laying around, if you could tell me the measurements of the bearings, that would be awesome.

I started thinking that if it were possible to retrofit a GS1000 crank bearing into a worn out 750 8V bottom, then the problem is solved as to not being able to get the 750 crank bearings anymore, just upgrade the top end to fit the GS1000 parts on!

Thanks all,

Chuck
