A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Need assistance.

Need assistance.

Going to replace the brake light switch. Tried to salvage the old one but when squeezing the lever the brake light came on and never shut off.

Need to figure out the orientation of the base plate and copper piece.

1) I assume the wire leads out the front of the perch. The round imprint throws me off as to whether this is the off position or a stop or just the cast in the mold.

2) Small copper piece. If I remember correctly only goes one way.

TIA.

You already have your new switch it appears so this is moot but I ended up using banjo bolt brake light switches. My front switch essentially disintegrated upon disassembly so I went the bolt switch route as it is far easier and, to me, more reliable. Not sure how accurate you are trying to make your resto so that could factor in to it as well.

I have used those but not this build. Original as I can get it. Thanks.

Just pulled mine apart as I forgot how it went when I replaced that contact piece. Wires exit towards the rider, so the contact piece rests on the dot while not pulling the brake.

Thats what I thought. Thank you Sir.

If I'm not mistaken it was mounted backwards by someone else. Can't be sure however. I'll get to it first thing in the morning and report back.

Appreciated.

Me too! Going to be a while however. Busy Body Shop but quality work worth waiting for.

Yikes! This build is way over budget now! Good body and paint isn't cheap. Still worth it however. To me anyway.

Been a while..

Been a while..

Just busy with life and the issues it throws at you.

Received a undamaged chain guard this time. Installed quite a while ago.

After.

Ordered these on May 12, received yesterday. These are not in stock but made to order. Part of the delay was quality control as CMS refused them. These are perfect.

Couple of pics.

Still searching for a right side exhaust cover. Paint is still not done. Getting a little pized about it too. Still have carburetors to rebuild. Won't get much done due to the heat but would like all the parts here at home.

Onward...slowly.

Left side mounted, will get to the right side first of week.

Been a month but...

Been a month but...

Other half has been ill off and on for 4 months and with the heat there was just no shop time. Weather is cooling and I can't wait!

I did finally get the paint back. That took forever also. Just shy of 4 months but he knocked $150 off the bill.

Fuel tank.
