Found a GT380 Ram Air and was thinking about picking it up.

Yellowish gold paint scheme with kick start.

Does the collective know any stats or other info on the bike.

They must be a bit rare, have not seen many around.

This was garage kept with about 27K miles on her.

(Edit). Took some pictures, will post up when I get a chance.

This bike is in pretty good shape, and here I *. 324(+3-,/ .) GS1100EX AND my fishing boat.

So, the guy will give it up for 1,000-Dollars. There is just something abouit it that calls to me...

Oh well... This too shall pass.

They are a very nice bike, and they are not rare but are hard to find as they are getting up there in age. Plus being a 2 stroke a lot me were scraped when four stroke came more poplar.

Had a 76 model in gold when I was 18. Manic bikes - handling is best described as poor (tank slappers common and ground clearance is limited) but what a sweet, sweet engine. Find yourself a long tunnel and just ride back and forth all day - heaven. 3-1 exhaust saps a bit of power but adds to the noise (it's worth it.....).

Do just over a ton and quick off the mark. Watch the centre cylinder timing as they tend to overheat unless you get it spot on.

My first street bike was a '76 GT 380.
They are quick but as mentioned they are not the best handlers.
I high sided mine a few times , the foot pegs do not fold .
They are a high maintenance bike.
But they are FUN.

If you pick it up...I know where one is sitting and enriching the soil that can maybe be good for some parts. I hear that all these old bikes, especially in this size, are bringing premium prices due to fuel costs.:D

Just in case you didn't know.
Two strokes are terrible on gas.
If that is the reason for purchase please don't.
And did I mention they are FUN ?:D

I had one of them myself. The oiler pump quit working and the right hand side rod came out to visit my ankle. That was exciting. It was quick for me.
If i came up with another I would have to premix the gas.

I had one like 73? PLenty of getup & go but lousy drum brakes. No engine braking If I got another I would look for a GT550

Friend of mine has I think a 74 or 75 Kawasaki 500 stroker. I am dying to ride that thing.

Don't stuff around, buy it! Great bikes and you'll kick yourself in the future if you don't.

I had one back in the day. Gas mileage was not great, but it would fly for a bike of it's displacement. Be careful about the middle cylinder. I modified the airbox & got what seemed to be a little more power. I also ended up replacing the middle piston within 3000 miles, & again 3000 miles down the road.

I looked at and test rode a used one back in the late 70s. It was a nice bike but one thing that really stood out that I still remember today was lack of low in power. Maybe the motor needed rings, I don't know. Of course in my young years at the time I didn't know how to deal with a peaky power band: clutch. I think you would enjoy it and those 2 stroke triples sound great!

Had two of those 75 h1's... a lot of fun... they are about 25-28 mpg 'ish.
want to die? ride my cousins 72 h2 750... lots'a work done to that one! scarry thing to ride. 75 in third, crack the throttle... if you aren't laying on the tank, up she goes!!!

***edit*** my heart still longs for another one.

I put about 25K on a GT550. Decent bike for the day. Had a non-O-ring chain. Got about 45 mpg with it. If you want a fun antique that you can really use, buy one. Check Ebay to see the range of prices. The most valued Suzuki two-stroke is the GT750 "water buffalo". But for daily riding, get a GS.

Thanks all,

I am (sadly) going to pass on this one, she is in grea shape, and really only needs tires and a possible tune-up.

All the pieces are there and she looks really clean.

The owner has turned down some of the offers, and will not sell to someone who will not take care of it.
