    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The wife gets depressed around Mothers Day and indicated she wouldn't mind getting out of town this coming weekend. Being the obliging type I called http://riverstonelodge.com/ and got reservations for Friday-Saturday-Sunday. I planned to trailer the KLR and get some riding in but the weather forecast hasn't been looking good, finally today it has changed a bit. I think I will risk it and take at least a half day to hit the Foothills Parkway and the Dragon. Not sure which day but if you are in the area give me a shout here or on Facebook.

If you do the foothills parkway, do both directions. Each one has a different look.

That new section of the Foothills Parkway from Townsend to Wears Valley is open now, too.

Sounds like fun. Will she ride with you?

My wife grew tired of the KLR pretty quickly when we had it, but still likes riding with me on the GS.

No, my Wife gets around using a walker or rollator (Bad back issues), riding isn't an option for her. That is why I'm only planning a half day for riding. I will do tourist stuff with her the rest of the time.

Gotcha! Maybe a sidecar is in order for one of your thumpers. She'll enjoy getting out of town for the weekend nonetheless I'm sure.

Ride safe, and enjoy!

Remember...

If you need help with anything, roadside assistance, tools, second set of hands, or help drinking bourbon, we are only an hour away from Townsend.

PM sent with my cell number.

Have fun.

Thanks Bob, the weather still isn't looking great, I may make a last minute call on bringing the bike.

Wound up not taking the bike, Saturday was a washout but Sunday was OK. I drove the new section of the Foothills Parkway that runs into Wears Valley, My My what a fine road with spectacular overlooks. I WILL return on a bike. Here are some shots from some of the overlooks.
