All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi. My name is Ole-Johan. I am from Norway. I purchased my GS1000G when I was 17yr. Has not taken care of it myself all time, but it ended up in my garage as he who took care of it called me and asked me to take it back. Hi had not had time for it and used it for a while. The bike has not been restored. There is a lot of minor wear that can be shown here and there. However it's maybe one of the most compleate original. I also happens to have the leather suit that came with and that I did not bye when I bought it new. The hisotry on the leather suit is that the dealer retired and I was offered the leather suit 41yr later. It did not fit then, and it does not fit now, but it makes the history and bike compleate. It fits my daughter perfect, and she is a rider. I made a little tribute to my GS1000G.

N I C E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 1000G is one of the all-time best GS's (my opinion). At 70k km, yours is still a baby! It should run another 70k, as long as you take care of it!

Welcome Ole, Love that video. My 1st "new" bike was an "80" 1000G. Probably most comfortable bike I ever had. Your picture says GS1000G 1982, in "82" ours went to 1100cc. I'm jealous of yall's paint, all we ever got was a solid color with gold pin stripes, yours looks waaay better. In video, how'd you get the tach to jump while no hand on the throttle, or I couldn't see a hand? Another thing, how big are you, a couple of those pictures, that bike looks way small, or you look way big, kind'f looks like a duck on a june bug. Congrats on that old bike, great video, glad you found us.

The Black, red and orange was the last production of the GS1000G. It was replaced by the GS1100G in July 1982. Mine was licensed by the dealer in 1982-09-18.

I think I remember, yrs. ago, seeing a silver and blue in that same scheme. To me, Yall's looked sporty, ours looked kind'f blaaah... sure not sporty.

Very nice survivor condition.
That mileage is nothing at all, but one thing - it's around then (70,000Km or 40,000miles) the bottom left engine base gasket starts to show signs of leakage. If you're lucky it will happen much later.
