    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was in the process of buying some tires for my bike, they I thought is it tubeless? Anyone? Also, I was going to go one size up in the rear, from 120/90 to a 130/90.. thoughts?
 
My 850 is a little mix and match. The rear is a tubeless rim, the front is not, but has been converted. Look on the rims for "tubeless tire applicable". I just ran out to look at my 850's rear. It's on the brake side, 144? around from the valve stem.

I seem to remember reading that tubeless didn't necessarily come in a particular year, but as supplies of the older tube rims were used up. So, you'll have to check yours. You can probably get a tube from a local dealer if you find you need one.
 
Basically, all modern street tires are tubeless, but you are free to run a tube inside if the rim dictates such.
 
130/90-17 will be fine on the rear.

As far as the tubes, hard to tell.

IIRC, some early 850s used tubes, but many have been converted to tubeless. And some bikes were tubeless on one end and tubed on the other.

As far as the tires, all the available options can be used tubed or tubeless, so no worries there.

All of my 17" rear tired bikes (850-1200, except for the GSX1100G's) now run 130/90's lovin' it that way. ;)

I just converted my 750 to cast rims... tubeless... 130/90 rear. It looks much better than the spoked 18" rims. Should handle a ton better too.
 
I have witnessed tube mag rims converted into tubeless. I also hear they work just fine when converted correctly. YMMV, of course.

Yeah all that extra unsprung weight can only help the handling.....UH huh.
