A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just thought I'd post a pic or two of the bike that so many of you have given your advice on. Not finnished, but close! Lowered with clip ons and streetfighter flyscreen. I did the paint myself, and my neighbor recovered the seat for me. Also LOTS of polishing ! What a mess that was!

Thanks alot! Glad you like it! Was the first bike I ever did fork seals on, and everyone on here was very helpful.

That the stock front? It looks pretty wicked
Not stock. Found it on ebay for like 40 dollars. I slid the fork tubes up, installed the clipons(ebay also) , and relocated the air suspension collars to the top side. All in all , it lowered the front end about 3".

Sweet work man! I have often thought of going to clipons for my cafe project, but methinks my back would have a sh1tfit about it...lol So i think ill stick with the clubmans:-D

that's why I put them on top of the tripple, instead of under. Plus being a "little" higher should help my wife feel a little more in control while she gets some miles under her belt.

These bars look lower than they feel. I'm only 5'9" BTW !

Would you , or anyone else happen to know if early model GSXR wheels , or KATANA wheels will work on the original axels? I would like to be able to use more modern radial rubber , and a bit wider tire on the rear. And thanks for all the kind comments on the bike.

Im quite a bit taller, so i think i would be bending over a bit more to the bars...i still may give it a shot...didnt think the clipons over the tree would look good but that doesnt look bad at all..nice work sir!

Im not sure about that..Alot of the guys on here are big into mods and have a bit more experience with model swaps, ask in the tech forum im sure they'll answer you right quick...i think GIABLO has some Katana wheels he's selling too.

Thanks for the advice! I'll post a closeup of the clipons in a few min.

I have 600 kat wheels on mine, both wheels use the same size axle. The rear will bolt right up if you use the kat rear brake caliper mount and spacer. You can use the stock axle. Just need to modify the brake caliper stay so it won't rub the tire. The front is an easy swap too, the kat front end will bolt right on. The steering head bearings are the same for both bikes. You only have to fab the steering stops, Two bolts threaded into the frame. And modded the instrument mount, and used slightly longer handlebar mount bolts to fasten it to the bottom of the top tripple tree.

What's that headlight & fairing off? Looks really modern! I like it on that bike.

Dan :)
