A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Honda 87 CBR600F Hurricane, project

Yeah, I've always preferred doing the base color first and the stripes last. Doesn't hurt to experiment, though. Fine Line tape takes all the worry out with almost a sure thing result, but it's expensive. 15 bux for a single roll. With this bike you can even put all the parts back on to lay the stripes out so they match up from part to part. Something I never had the luxury of when people were sending me stuff through the mail. Had to take a billion photos and measurements to insure they were correct.

Got rained out of my exterior work day, so I spent the time at home air brushing the stripes, correcting all the bleed under fuzz. Looking sharp now.

Body panels on?

Ok, still need to scrape, sand, buff and polish some runs on the tank, but lookin' sweet!!
PS:Only got the side cowling on one side for these photos, some of the fastening points need repair.

WOW! How many times has it happened, you waited a long time for cool bike in your price bracket, you buy it. Then a couple weeks later a WAY BETTER BIKE shows up for less money!!!
Just came across this beauty on CL:
Honda CBR 600 F Hurricane - $600 (Ann Arbor)
Surely this was tempting...

But this has got to be way more rewarding. I respect that you didn't jump on that deal and bail on your project.
Great job, Bill.

Where have you been all my life, Wife???

WOW!!! This is what an 87 600 can do? I'm so out of touch, think I'm gonna sell my liter bikes!!!!
Filled the tank and did 40 miles on every twisty road and HWY I know, this bike is killer!!!
Did a few naughty things, splitting between pilgrims that got in the way of my joy!!!
Bike needs some simple tweaks, but I need to do a track day this summer!
Love the smooth way it transitions from braking to power in corners!!!
