A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got here to Camp 5 about 10 days ago, it's been 100 degrees or close to it since arriving. Things are supposed to finally cool off starting tomorrow so we'll continue hanging out in the shade trading stories with Scooter Tramp Scotty until then.

CAmps are numbered there ?

ANy more adventures to report ?
Camp 5 is where General Custer camped with his troops on the way to The Little Bighorn, at least that's the way heard it. These days the Camp 5 trailhead is where off-roaders park and unload their ORV's, you can also camp here free if you like. Right now it's full of fellow vagabonds many of which are here to work various jobs at the stores, camps and vendors. The rally officially opens later this week, some guys have been here for a month already.

As to other news I became a South Dakota resident by renting a mailbox for a year and spending one night in a campground. Bring in the receipts from that along with your birth certificate, Social Security card and current driver's license and you walk out of the DMV an hour later with a picture ID! I also now have a current tag with a new SD license plate on my bike, the old Michigan tag expired three years ago.

There was a French group here doing some videography and interviews with people living full time on their bikes, it could be I'll be getting my 15 minutes of fame sometime early next year. Scooter Tramp Scotty set that up, there's about a dozen of us here along with members of his fan club massaging our egos with beer, food, etc. Good times all around!

Things have officially become downright INSANE up here!

Coming back from town yesterday the road back to camp was closed due to an accident, went back and hung out with some folks I'd met and came back a couple of hours later. Turns out a woman died after not negotiating a curve, lost both legs and was pronounced dead at the scenes.

About dinner time we're sitting around and a loud crash was heard then a woman yelled "It was all your fault" A bike crossed the center line and hit an SUV head on. We headed up to see what happened and offer help. Saw two mangled bodies laying in the road, the bike was basically disintegrated and the SUV had a caved in front end. Both people on the bike where already gone, probably dead on impact. Probably THE most gruesome thing I've ever experienced seeing that outcome.

Stay in your lane folks and don't go beyond your skill level. Combine this along with six that died on The Tail of the Dragon during the month I spent there this spring and people wonder why I avoid crowds ..
