A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Took the 1150 out yesterday and did a 15mph roll on with my 140lbs buddy on his 2010 FZ6. Power wheelied then once the front end came down the 1150 screamed by him and when I shut it down there was at least a tractor trailer length between us and I was still getting away. Speedo was north of 130mph... Gut wrenching fur sure.

just an FYI.
if your 1150 does not have an HD basket installed...
it will come a part and blow a hole in your cases and spew oil maybe under your rear tire.
i am 100% serious.
these bikes broke stock baskets when they was brand new.
let me know if you need any more info.

Took the bandit up to 120, right past radar.

Needless to say, he heard me loud and clear.
Never came after me though! Thank God.

IN VT it's illegal to pursue if the perpetrator is exceeding 100 MPH on State roads (some safety law)... Not sure about the interstate though.

Faster than yours!
9.72@146+mph was my GS1150 best at the track but I am sure I have had her over 160+mph on the street

Minimum 100 is good. Gotta get my speedometer cable swapped out so I have a good estimate.

Fast enough to make me giggle like a schoolgirl....The best thing about these old bikes is that younger riders underestimate them....Then are shocked.

Sounds like 100 is the new minimum cruising speed.

Read it again, you have to "exceed" 100, so make it at least 101 :D

I haven't been over 100 in a week, I keep itchin to see how fast they'll really go, but it's been many many years since I've been up to 140 on a bike, and that was only once, on the Skunk I used to own. The fear of getting caught holds me back.

I did ~90 one time. I was going to click it up into 5th, but I caught up to trafic and decided against it. In 4th every 1000rpm nets another 10mph~, so once I ran the spedo out I'm just estimateing. I think I can bust the ton given enough clear road and no cops.

Not bad for a 450 with a fat guy on the back, and a 1+ tooth CS. :D

Hade my 2004 Honda rune wide open more than once 131 is flat out. Can't wait to see what the GS 1100 will do

I see a indicated 165 mph on my 98 gsxr1100 once, was one of those just have to see moments , but the bike was still pulling and I backed off it was fast enough for me.

Good, except that is not an OLD GS

Well its a Suzuki, but not a GS IMO.
And I dont even know what a Honda Rune is not that I care anyway, but it shouldnt be here either.

On my 82 last weekend going across the desert on an unnamed straight as an arrow deserted two lane I got her up to 8600 rpm on a flat stretch after about a minute, don't know how fast it was but I think I got about all of it anyway.
