A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

how rare are these fairings?

timebombprod

Forum Sage
posted my bike in a facebook group for these bikes showing my paint ideas for the bike, had a few comments that said take that sticker of your fairing, i just told them its not one but another guy said that they're super rare to have. after looking on facebook, craigslist, ebay, and google i couldnt find any other bike or a set of fairings that have these, id figure a picture on google of the bike would show me one but to my suprise i couldn't find one.

knowing there was something like 3500 of these made for the US whether it was just the GL or all 650s im wondering how many out of that were installed with this fairing, or if i can just know why they did it and if it has some meaning. anything there is you know about them let me know!

by the way its the red suzuki emblem that im talking about

By fairing are you mean the chrome airbox trim that has the red 'S' on ?

It is my understanding that only 37 650 GL's were built with that particular faring, only 17 of them were exported to the United States.
It represents they were hand and machine assembled in Japan by Japanese technicians using only the finest materials obtainable. You truly have a special piece of Suzuki history.
Oh, there will be naysayers out there, but that's because they don't no or are jealous of what you have. It's probably best just keeping it between you and I... Congratulations

Dang it storm, you've always had a habit of being secretive like that. I wish you would share more of your secrets.

A sticker on the airbox cover? Is it identical on both sides? If so, then the P.O. was a well-balanced dork. I doubt that the factory in Japan applied those to any bike they built.

If you like it, leave it. If you want museum quality stock, start sanding.
