DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just how did you get a hold of an '84 400?

It is possible you are not in the United States, where other markets had bikes available that we don't.

In the US, 400s were only available in '77 and '78, which had B and C suffixes to the model names.
T and X were the suffixes for '80 and '81.
If, indeed, you do have an '84, the suffix should be E.

Yes SR my bike is 84 GS 400EE black engine 8 valve I got it as a give from a friend I’m in Ontario Canada believe it or not I fix bike for leaving but every one I ask in this industry is as lost as I’m none have an straight answer for me as well as Suzuki dealer and I need to know what do I’ve to find a way to get part cause they’re every were but I just get so confused one thing doesn’t match with the other one when come to it. I need valve & piston. Is 84 GS400E same as GSX400E ????

The X just denotes bikes sold in countries other than the states. We got GS and the rest of the world got GSX. Same bikes with a different designation. You can get model info here. http://www.suzukicycles.org/All-Suzuki/all_suzuki_models.html Don't trust the part numbers, they may show a different number and actaully be the same part. I wouldn't be surprised if the pistons and valves weren't the same as an '83 750 or '85 700. I have some extra valves for a 700 if you want to see if they're the same. Do you know what size valves they ran?

Hi Billy Rick?s
Yes is the same valve 84 gs400 to a gs750 invent the same part number I also found that is the same engine from 80 to 86 with a different from 80 81 and some small different through the rest of the year as well when they black coat the engine well I also go the manual on PDF but is more for 82 and other PDF for specific for 84 spec for now I?m at school my first year to get my motorcycle mechanic license .definaly if by the time I?m done you still have them we?ll see what can we do about those valves and I?ll be needing valve Gide too
