If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

My favorite ride so far to take is going from Santa Barbara to Ojai on the 150, and from Ojai up the 33 to Wolf's tavern (an old, abandoned inn). Here's a short video that might explain why better than I can. Yes..I am on the ratty gs450 in front of the camera bike., I wish i could post the video directly here.

You get that "Rat" pretty wound up ! Just one question: Whats that coming over the hill ?

Even thought it is a popular "Harley" route I've done it a few times. Just one big loop.

Another So Cal rider... you should be coming to Escondido on our rally :D

My friends joked that i was making a "mexican ducati", hence, the "monster" song.

Escondido is way out of the way, Not sure if I want to ride all the way there on an over sprung bike with 1/2" of foam as a seat.

Nice ride. I was out there once last summer but on my old 750E. The GS1100 would have been much more enjoyable. Nice video ride.

Awwww, c'mon! It's not that far, I'm going...:D

That's a nice easy run then... Yosemite was over 300 for me "the long way round". :D

It was a bit far

It was a bit far

but I did 1700 miles in 4 days on the Yosimite trip. I'm in SB as well.

I'll think about going for a day. I can't commit a full weekend to something like this.

 Don't let us force you into a fun trip... sure there will be something nice on the TV ;)

Any of you guys ever spend a weekend at the Songdog Ranch in New Cuyama? Its not far from SB or Ojai. I used to make it up there for the campouts when I lived in Hermosa Beach. Good roads, good food and good people.

Not much of a TV viewer.

Yeah well...I am sure it would be fun, but it would have to be a day trip. I am not gonna carry camping gear on my bike or borrow a truck to carry the bike there. I'd probably ride the Malibu area to a friend's place in Fullerton on saturday, and ride down there on Sunday. Don't hold me to it though.

Thanks for posting the link to Song Dog. What BS that they're not allowed to have the weekend rallies anymore. Some of the best gatherings coincided with the Perseid meteor shower each yr. One memory in particular is walking over to the edge of the plateau that the campground is on. The meteor shower was so intense that it looked like someone was shooting fireworks overhead and I just wanted to make sure that wasn't the case. There had to be at least a dozen people over there when I arrived. They all had the same thoughts as I did and went over to make sure what we were seeing wasn't manmade. Incredible! The New Age music cranked up on the PA system only added to the effect. Rev was a very cool host too. If you ever get up there please tell him Al of Al's Pals sent you. It'll blow his mind.

Wow does that happen every year?

I remember many years ago being in Baja Mexico camping where there is very little ambient light in the desert and seeing a large glowing meteor go tracing across the sky. Very surreal; we don't see that stuff in the city. The meteor shower must be pretty intense.

Yep, every year. There are two showers actually, but I can't remember the name of the other one. I'll probably wake up in the middle of the night when I remember it. Just like in Baja, there's no light polution up there in the high desert. It makes for a helluva light show. At least it did back in the 80's. What really blew my mind was how many meteors there were. It was like a constant shower.
