A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

I am seriously an addict!!!

They'll need work, but they're all yours.
PM your mailing address and I'll get them on their way Friday afternoon.

Engine is back together and today I should be able to get it painted. Spokes arrived so the rim will be relaced next. Cant put anything back in the frame till I have some rims mounted. Once thats done its basically reassemble the bike and get the body work painted.

Not much to take pictures of..same old song and dance process I use on any bike resto project. I will snap some when hes done though.

Engine is painted, fork seals and new oil replaced, tank stripped and primed, front brake caliper rebuilt and new pads installed. Gotta square away the battery box and throw the base coat on the tank tomorrow.

Battery box bead blasted and repainted. Tank has the silver base coat done. Now I am letting them dry and turning attention to reassembly of the carb rack.

When its all back together there will be pictures. Wheels will be relaced the weekend of July 10th and after that its basically reassemble the bike and finish the body work paint. Carbs reassembled this afternoon.

Its just the same ole same ole that i do to every other bike so I didnt think wasting picture time was a big deal.

Someone wanted pictures, so heres where things stand after the silver base coat. Gotta do the flake, 2 coats of Candy Orange, and put decals on, and then clear it all. LOTS of work left to do.

Decided to put off some chores for the more important things in life........anything motorcycle related is more important. HA HA. Shot some orange anyway. The left side cover is the original and the bottom is the color my guy matched up. It ( viewing it in person ) is absolutely a perfect match.

Gotta give it all the once over with wet /dry 1500 and get a second color coat on. Then mask it off for doing the black cheek patches. Decals are on order from AFE Graphics ( CB Decals ).

Holy crap, the tank looks amazing!

I need to have my tank repainted at some point as well, and aim for a similar look (different color though). Would you care to briefly outline your process?

I shot a silver base coat..2 coats. Then was DBC 500 with flake cut at a 1 to 1 ratio. Then 3 coats of the Candy Orange. Right now i have it masked off and am adding the black cheek patches. Once the black is done the decals will be applied and then 2 or 3 coats of clear to top it off.
