Identify this part

A friend and former GS1100 owner offered to give me this part that he bought prior to selling his 1100. He offered it because he knows I'm going to be replacing the crank seal on the right side. Its been years since he had his 1100 and was of the impression that this item was related to addressing a leaky seal. So here's my question and the reason I worded the title of this thread the way I did.
Can anyone identify this after market, machined item?

1100s don't have clutch rods like your 550.

That is not a "part from" a GS1100. It's been a long time but I think I would have remembered something that looked like that. A tool for r/r something????I couldn't imagine what.

I agree that it's not a "part from" and apologize for not clarifying that, in my opinion, it's a tool of some sort associated with a r/r process. My buddy had an 1100 and was certain that he bought it to replace a seal on that bike, although he couldn't remember what seal.
Fwiw, this whole thing came about when I told him that I was going to be replacing the right side crank seal on my '83 1100. He thought I might be able to use it but wasn't sure, again, exactly what it was meant for.
