A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wonderful to see bikes racing down narrow old world roads and through villages!

I can really identify with Irish weather! We're having the same here in Michigan!

These are the lead ins to the IOM. Got a mate over there at the moment. They were at the NW200 last week and he says he was in shorts so it wasn't too bad there. He's in the IOM at present preparing for practise week. Looking after Jay Lawrence on a supersport 1000.
Jay of course rode a Katana in the Classic TT last year.

During the week it was nice, but Saturday was fairly awful with 9C-10C temps, wind and rain. I didn't envy the riders having to go out in those conditions at all. It was miserable enough just standing in a field watching.

Too much rain?bummer

Update, bad weather, nothing happening.

Wish I was there! I went to the Classic TT/Manx GP last year, what a place! Truly Mecca for motorcyclists. Even without the racing it was better than any bike show. Rare and unique bikes everywhere!

Looking for free viewing, frustrating delays:

I would love to go to the IOM, but I figure to do it without a "tour guide" it would be tough for a first timer. So I put the NW200 on my bucket list. Dont know my geography, but as long as your in that neck of the woods how about this? Not trying to hijack the thread...Thanks for the great posts!

I went over to the Ulster Gran Prix in 2011 and the Armoy "Race of Legends" in 2015 and had a great time at both. Weather makes or breaks the meet. I have a friend who I met here (GSR) who took me to the races once I got over. His house seems to burnt to the ground last night and I may need to make other plans in 2022 for the UGP 100th meeting.

I went to the NW200 this year with my wife and a buddy and his GF. It was also a substitute for the IoM due to difficulties finding accommodation and stupendous pricing of everything at the IoM. Had no local guidance for the NW200 but I did get some decent advice from people on an email list I am on. It was no issue to book accommodation, prices were reasonable and the people all around the area were very friendly and helpful. As Charlie G says, the weather is a big unknown and can really mess the works up. It was about 50/50 for us, with great weather all week, including the Thursday races, but rain and crap on the Saturday that significantly affected the racing. IMO, overall it was a great experience and very worth the trip despite the weather issues.

If you have any questions about it, PM me and I will answer what I can.
