Yes, the Corbin is firm, but it is shaped very well, as in there aren't any hot spots. The whole seat issue seems to be a very individual preference. Here's a good story of a guy who did a very demanding Iron Butt ride on a C14 with a Corbin. He supplemented the Corbin with an Airhawk as well. A good idea if you're as crazy as he was to pull off a ride like this.

Here is a photo of mine with the Corbin. Notice that it is a heated seat, that doubles the cost of the thing... but someone had to have it! (not me). The only other things I did to it was to install some bar risers and a larger more useful luggage rack. (This photo has the stock rack)
