A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A very nice bike, indeed. Love the Kerker exhaust. I've had one on several of my bikes. They always clear everything, never drag, and sound awesome.

How well can you see behind you with those mirrors? I'm thinking of getting something similar for my 750.

I can actually see pretty good compared to other aftermarket mirrors that stick way up on the handlebars. These are convex shaped and are the nice folding CRG brand. I would not go with the cheapo ones I have heard bad things. I think these folding CRGs cost me about $145. They also give you less of a blind spot to your immediate left/right as they are pretty convex and mounted way out on the ends of the handlbar. I can't wait for some of these new smart helmets to come out with the rear veiw camera and heads up display! That would let you see perfect behind you.

I?m curious, I?ve got a restomod 53 Buick, which is late running gear in a stock body. Can I assume you?re talking the same scenario when applying the term to a GS?13235D77-8754-4776-8D1B-09CF9492B4D9.jpg

Very nicely put together bike. Looks perfect in my book.... Have you put it on a dyno, check the AF/R under load, and to see what the HP is? I have a 1982 GS1100e also, in red/maroon. Stock with a few bolt ones. Has the exact same carbs as yours, picked them up NOS a few years ago, and my jetting is just about the exact same as yours. I jetted the carbs to a new MotoGP pipe and silencer (copy of an old race Yoshimura pipe), and K&N pods. I did the final jetting on a dyno, made 109 HP with the clutch starting to slip. Stock before the bolt one it made 93-94 HP. Are you sure about those wheels being GS1150? What size tires do you have? If you ever want to sell it, please message me... thanks, Joe

I have CRG mirrors and cheapo's too. they both work well. They cheapo's needed to get creative to install.
