    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

KZRider hacked?

  • Thread starter Thread starter SVSooke

Just wanted to update my projects thread at KZR http://www.kzrider.com/ and got a hacked ryff4 by screen.:(:eek:Anybody else get that?

When I tap the link in your post that is exactly what appears.

Never understood the hacker thing. Just seemed like a way for terrified people to feel the illusion of control. Just being an ass as far as I can tell.

It's happening on a lot of forums. The FZ1OA has been seeing daily attempts, mostly coming from Chinese IP addresses.

Well I hope they don't get this one. Also hope KZR gets back on line..

In computing, a denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users. A DoS attack generally consists of efforts to temporarily or indefinitely interrupt or suspend services of a host connected to the Internet.

OK what ever it was it ends up to be the same thing. It was "sighed" though.

Running around trying to do ten things at once, and "Mike from the windows technical department" just called.

He's Pat O'Connor when he calls here. We used to play games with them usually ending with a completely gullible user i.e. us , spelling out L...I....N....U....X from a highly jittery attacked screen. What does that word mean , is that the virus we would ask.....click. Now it's becoming boring. My wife once hung up on them and he called straight back accusing her ' Oh Madam, that was not very polite' which was true but hardly the point. On a certain level I have sympathy for Mike and Pat. I can only imagine the working conditions.

Which reminds me.... did anyone else notice a high number of ' server busy, try again' messages here on Sunday?

The site was working early yesterday, so it appears to have happened late morning. I did send an email to Stein - the webmaster for that site. I see it is offline at the moment, so hopefully it is getting restored now.

It's amazing, and sad, that some people don't have anything better to do than crash out something as harmless as a motorcycle forum. The traffic through KZRider is minimal anyway. Nothing like the GSR.

On a side note, the difference between KZR and GSR is profound. KZR has some knowledgeable folk, but they few and far between. The guys there embrace Carb Kits, aftermarket gaskets, and shunt R/R's. :p

Really?I never noticed that much difference.Mind you at this point I spend way more time here as I'm still trying to get the 78 1000 done before getting sunk into the GPz.The KZ spectrum is smaller to as they where made for less time and fewer models than the GS making a smaller base.
I"m baffled as to why someone would hack any motorcycle forum to,Small thing to amuse small minds?

Clicked on the site and got this:
Site was hacked, and I'm currently cleaning up the mess the kids made...
KZr will be back, but I can't say for sure when...
Stein, KZrider.com
I sure hope so,will be needing some GPz parts:-\\\

Why yes it is.Good on Stein for knowing he might need to hand over the reigns.

Stein has a young family now - and that combined with his work, he just doesn't have enough time to dedicate to the KZRider web site anymore. Better to hand over control than what happened on another site I belonged to. The owner/administrator went through a bitter divorce and just totally abandoned the site. We couldn't get access to the site and the old forum went offline never to come back... We lost a ton of posts/information... that was extremely frustrating.
