If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Like a hole in the head...

With those pics you took of the moose wondering in the neighbourhood no way i would leave that bike out in the driveway.
Those calves might not want to wait to the Fall for mating season.

Looks great to me Larry, love the stance! Can't wait to see some colour...

Thanks, Pete, won't have to wait long. If I was still at my shop, it'd be done by next weekend. It's strange to have to wait to paint it in a friend's shop for when his booth is un-occupied..but I'm grateful to have a place to do it. His booth kicks a$$. Downdraft exhaust in the floor and all the heat in the world..;)

Sounds like a nice booth to me! Having only painted in my garage with drop sheets and a pedestal fan... yeah I can't wait to get my shed done so I can do some more without the grief I had last time...

Just a tease..... Blue is on and sanded smooth with 600, black stripes are on, masked and ready for the red pinstripe. Gold pinstripes and decals tomorrow, clear on Saturday. Agonizingly slow progress w/o my shop, but it's getting there..

The under side of the fender will be painted black before it goes on the bike..

The black on the bottom of the tail section should blend into the frame nicely..

I also painted the seam around the tank black and rounded off the front bottom corner with the black, too. Once on the bike that corner should blend in and look rounded instead of squared off.

The most expensive red paint..ever..Dodge Viper red..$150..a pint..

More updates over the weekend hopefully..thanks for lookin'

Ha! You say " Agonizingly slow progress "........... watch me rebuild a set of Mikuni carburetors, 45 days of pure excitement!!

Great work, Larry.

Wow, isn't there a red that looks the same, only cheaper?
There must be something very close for $20 or so?

Whatever it costs you, it will be worth it for me to see the finished project.

As always, looks great so far.

Dang it, Larry. You should host a workshop for us lowly aspirants.

Looking good. I'd take it with just the primer.

How far can you stretch a pint of that liquid gold, Dodge Viper paint?

Thanks, guys. I would never have bought that red paint just to do the stripes. I actually bought it for a bike I did a year or so ago and had about half a pint left. Red is the most expensive pigment on the planet, and this red has just enough pearl in it to really shoot it through the roof. It's a great color. Just got done with the decals and the gold pin stripes this morning. Looking forward to spraying the clear tomorrow. I'll post up some pics before the weekend's over..if all goes well, that is..:D

Stunning work Larry, pure bike porn.:clap:
Was going to post up some pics of Jennifer's paint job this weekend, but I think I will pass.
It would be like parking an old banger Ford Pinto next to a show winning Mustang...hahahahaha. :o

Oh Larry, you've done us proud!

Awesome work as always and it's not even finished yet! Cannot wait to see the final result...

I saw your paint, Flyboy..you have nothing to hide from..that baby turned out nice..you should be very proud of that paint.

Thanks, Pete. It's finally starting to look like something with all the colors and the decals on. I'm pretty stoked. I'll wait till there's some clear on to post pics. It'll give you a better idea of how it'll look when it's done.

I clear coated the parts for the 400 today. Waited for them to dry for 3 hrs. in a 75 degree booth, carefully put them in the car and gingerly drove home. I hung the front fender from a small chain I looped from the coat hanger brackets above the rear windows in the back seat of my car. It's too light not to flop over on it's side and it was still a bit tacky..had to stare at it waving around in my rear view mirror for 50 miles...drove me crazy.

Took some down and dirty quick pics.

I like how the black slims this fender up.

Can't wait to mount this Ducati tail on..

Just need to sand and polish em at this point. Man, it's so cool to get to this stage...it never gets old..

There can be no doubt that your 400 will steal the show where ever it goes.:cool::cool:
