If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking for advice on small fairing or windshield for 82 GS1100E I wand something small that would take some of the wind off my chest. I like the look of the Wes Cooley but they don't list one for the 82 with the big 8" train light. I have a Vetter windjammer but it is just too big. I want one that is more sporty. Thanks for any recommendations

National Cycle make lots of different sizes and styles. I don’t have one, but probably will in the future based on reviews on this site and elsewhere.

I bought this generic one on eBay. It’s certainly worth the $21.99 price tag, but honestly doesn’t do all that much, gets the air a bit off the chest, higher into the shoulder area. I’ll get a taller one eventually.

The big light makes it harder to find. I found this one on eBay about 7 years ago. Not sure if it is still there.

Look for something that fits a Ducati Monster, that's how I found mine.

Rich posted a link to National Cycle, I'll go a step farther and narrow it down to the Street Shield EX.

It's just a bit bigger than the one that Baatfam suggested and does a pretty good job of deflecting the blast without removing you from the experience.

There is also the basic Street Shield, but the EX has a quick-detach feature, in case you want the FULL experience.

LPMReplicaparts or MeadSpeed out of the UK might make an "S" replica with the 8" opening.

There used to be be a guy in the States that made them but i could find anything about him so he may no longer be in the game.
Went by National Fiberglass and did a lot of bodywork for WERA and AHRMA vintage racers.

Thanks for the recommendations I have decided on the Street Shield EX. I think it will give me the wind protection I am looking for and being removable is a big plus also

If Photo*ucket is playing well, you can click on the link in my sig for my son's (now sold) '82 650GL and get a hint of how it might look.

That Street Shield EX would look good on my GS650. I also looked at the small Slipstreamers but I like the mounts on the Street Shield EX.

The Plexifairing3 on my wife's 850L uses the same quick-mounts. We don't take the shield off for anything but maintenance, but it's sooo much easier when necessary. :encouragement:

Thank I got the Street shield ex ordered I will try to post a picture after I get it installed

Got it installed yesterday I plan on a ride today to see how it works

Looking forward to hearing what you think after riding with the new windshield.

I'm doing the same swap in the near future. Currently have a windjammer and am seriously considering the Street Shield EX. The 850 wears the Vetter stuff OK, but man it's heavy and bulky. Frankly, every time I remove the fairing for maintenance stuff I want to leave it off. My only concern is the Sonic fork springs I installed a while back. They have a 1.0 spring rate which may be too stiff after removing the 25lb fairing. I could always swap back to the stock springs I suppose.

Your 1.0 springs will be fine with the Street EX.

I have 1.1 springs in my 850 and my fairing weighs less than your ‘Jammer.

I do think my gravitational attraction is a bit more than yours, but your springs will be fine.

What viscosity oil are you using? I recommend 10w.
