DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I want to rebuild my front end with stiffer progressive type springs. I?m having a hard time determining what will fit my model. It?s The one with spoked wheels and single disc. Any recommendations?

I can not speak highly enough about my straight rate sonic springs. I know you posted you are looking for progressive but contact sonic springs just to have a word. My suspension feels better than new.

Agreed with Boriqua. Plus Rich Desmond from Sonic is a regular here and extremely helpful with set up recommendations.
i just put a second hand set of Sonic springs and Race Tech cartridge emulators in mine, but have yet to do any real riding on them. After a quick initial ride during last weeks warm weather it seems much improved though.

I have had Progressive (brand) springs and Sonic (straight-rate) springs. Sonic is FAR better.

Take a look at the Sonic Springs rate calculator, then order those springs and some 10w fork oil, you will be very pleased with the results.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did look on the sonic website but wasn?t sure about fitment for my bike because I saw gs750e and gs750l springs and I am pretty sure I have a B model. I suppose I can call.

There is contact form or email on the site and he is very responsive. They also delivered Blazing fast once I ordered.

Got it sorted with a set of the 1kg springs. Thanks all!

Since you are in "learning mode", you should be aware that the letter at the end is Suzuki's designation for the model year, but there are also letters for the model, so it can get confusing.

I don't know if it started in '78 or '79, but there was an upscale 750 that had the alloy wheels, double disc brakes on the front and a few other things, it was the 750E. If it was available in '78, the B would be added to the end and the proper designation would be GS750EB. If it were a '79, it would be a GS750EN.

Since the year designations were not necessarily sequential, it got interesting at time.
1976 - A
1977 - B
1978 - C
1979 - N
1980 - T
1981 - X
1982 - X
1983 - D
1984 - E
1985 - F

It's not quite as bad as Harley's alphabet soup, but it's possible to get a few letters there on a GS.
