I've been doing a lot of research on Mesh pants & the one that keeps coming up as being the ones to have are the Olympia Airglide 3.

I quite fancy these in the pewter colour and the style is what I was looking for but they are a little spendy.

Has anyone tried a pair & can comment?

Also - if anyone knows where to get them for less than $199 with free shipping then please post me a link!

Dan :)

Dan, not on these but Rose and I picked up tourmasters three season pants last year. Like em alot. Actually I think I only got "two season" as mine don't go down to mesh, just textile with heavy removeable liner. Roses however go down to mesh and I think we only paid around 160 or so for these. Only come in black though.

That could be these... http://www.revzilla.com/product/tour-master-venture-air-pants#

Also seem well thought of but not as much about them online as the Air Glides
I wanted to get them in white/grey like that, but couldnt find them local.. Where did you see those my friend? Rose likes hers alot. I personally think MY pair are a bit too large, my own fault, but I was thinking jeans underneath or whatever. After buying, I think I should have gone a size smaller. Plus, they're a little LONG, it seems. Thats the only thing that bugs me about riding pants. They always seem to be so long, unless you're silly skinny. Then they have inseams that work.

I will put in a second for the First Gear HT airs. I have had mine for three seasons now and they are excellent and sized to go over street clothes. With the liner in and just blue jeans I have ridden in the mid 30's and been comfortable. In the summer I will ride with shorts underneath and that also works out very well. I use them for commuting and with the full side zippers you do not have to take your shoes off to get in and out of them. Excellent all season pants IMHO. The only downside is the black color in the summer but I still have been very happy with them.

They are a bit pricey initially but since they are all season pants IMHO at least you will only need one pair. The hip armor they come with is a bit cheesy so I got the optional Hiprotech hip armor and put it in over the foam pad the pants came with. I have not tried just the windproof/waterproof liner only in the rain so I am not sure how it works. I have a pair of Frogg Toggs I use for that and they also work very well, In the summer on cool mornings I will sometimes put them on over the mesh pants until it warms up.

When these wear out I will definately be getting another pair.

I went for the Four Season pants by Fieldsheer.. they match my high temp jacket perfectly. Very comfy and easy to take on and off if you like to wear them over your jeans or shorts. plus a removavble liner just in case you ride somewhere that is a bit chilly...

Are you preparing for the hot Nevada sun? :D

Sure am.... those Olympia's seem to get top marks everywhere & I like the look. That place will always change them out for one of the others if I don't like em I guess...

Dan :)

I don?t have any overpants. My commute is only a few miles, so I just wear khakis, jeans, whatever I?m wearing to work (suit pants sometimes?). Accidents never occur on short commutes, of course.* I have some mesh First Gear pants ? I think they?re called Mesh-Tex. Fit perfectly, much better than the Vanson?s I have for cooler weather, Very comfortable, seem durable.

They won?t fit over your pants though.

Well I just pulled the trigger on a set of these First Gear HT overpants...
Kind of a last minute decision before Brown County...but my experience with Newenough tells me I should have them in time.

Well son-of-a-gun....just checked my order status and they were delivered at 11:30am today...

How the heck did Newenough do that? 21 hours from order to received via standard UPS....:D

I have a set of the Olympia's coming. Traded some wrenching time for a brand new set in pewter as pic above.

Will report back....

Initial thoughts on the Olympia is that they are a class bit of kit, very comfortable with /without the liner, well made etc.

Knee guard placement is well placed & the guards are better than most I have seen for flexibility whilst still offering as good protection as any others I have....

I haven't used them on the bike yet but my gut tells me that they are going to be good....

will report back once I've tested them with/without the liners.

After 2500 miles on the Olympia's I can say they are pretty good pant with the best & easiest to fit liner I've ever seen on any pants like these. :)

good protection

good protection

I wear (wore?) a pair of Joe Rocket Phoenix pants, and they really do provide good protection from falls. I accidentally fell off, due to ruts, and suffered no more than minor skin scraping. This with the standard pads. Very good to wear.
