A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hey there guys i hate to admit this but iv lost my keys for my 82 650L adn i was wondering if any of you would know of who i would get into contact with to get the key code so i can get a new key cut?

there was a guy on fleabay selling original keys sometime ago
the code i think you'll find next to the lock (stamped), on mine it's only the seat lock thats coded

Jimmy open your seat, take the lock off and take it to a locksmith.Boom Boom, job done. You're not the first.Cheers,Simon.\\:D/

hey how many numbers should the key code be?
i found a 6 digit number underneath the ignition assembly is this wat i am lookin for?

I have no idea what your situation is but a word of advice depending on circumstances: some folks go to very elaborate lengths to steal motorcyles. Might want to invest in a very heavy chain or use some other means to fully secure it until you get the new keys.

Example: full cu$tom Harley Knuckle Head, extremely heavily chained to a 6 " steel pole, which was cast in concrete and also attached to the ceiling. A pair of deadly doberman pinchers in the garage with it. The ceiling was also the floor of the owner's bedroom who slept with a loaded .44. The one garage door was solid steel with a super duty padlock.

Came down in the morning and the dogs were there, the bike chain was securely locked, the door was securely locked and the bike was gone, never found.

If you get a thin bladed screwdriver, you can jimmy him open.Been there ,done that.Misspent youth spent well.Cheers,Simon.:-D

I'm an Aussie!!They teach us that sh#t at school. That's how we keep getting hold of your Bledisloe Cup.Cheers,Simon.\\:D/

ok iv jimmied off theseat and unbolted the seat lock from the seat but i cant find any code on it where should i be looking on it?

Should be right next to the keyhole, it's a 3 digit number. Most seem to start with a 3.

So 3xx

Dan :)

Does your bike have a helmet lock? If so, the number will be stamped into that. Likewise, your ignition and gas cap. Obviously, getting to the ignition is work and getting gas cap out is also tricky. Good luck.

no helmet lock, aftermarket gas cap nad when u say ignition do u have to remove the tumbler from the ignition assembly

If you take off the seat lock and take the lock to a locksmith ,they should be able to cut keys to suit without having any codes.I've done this in a little 1 1/2 horse town here in Aus,so you should be able to do the same.My keys came out while I was riding and didn't notice as I had a tank bag on at the time.Rode back over 80km and couldn't find them.Someone was smiling down at me because when I pulled up on my return another bloke stopped at the same time on one of those stupid little Honda/harley things and bugger me if his key didn't fit.Borrowed it to get another cut to get home(via another 7500km)then did the above.Cheers,Simon.:-D
