    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Motor mount bolts .... to what?

I was missing a motor mount bolt, so I ordered #3 and #4 from this fische.

What does the motor mount bolt....bolt to? The missing bolt is directly under the stator. I'm not with the bike right now, but, I don't think it goes into #2. I've been told that it goes into a trapeziod shaped threaded retaining washer that is recessed into the inside of the frame. If so, it's not shown on the fische. I ordered #4, but I was sent a regular lock washer. I thought I was getting the trapeziod one.:confused:

What you need is in the crankcase picture: #23, 25, 27, & 28. The teardrop nut is held in place until the bolt catches it.

Larry, I've got at least three or four of the teardrop shaped engine mount "nuts" sitting in a box, along with a bunch of other engine mounting hardware. I just looked at them yesterday while tidying up in the garage.

Wait....you cleaned up the garage, how will you ever find anything ?!?!:D

I already ordered the motor mounts and teardrop nuts, washers, etc. Only $18.00, so, no big deal.

I did get my cam chain tensioner gasket, o-rings and oil seal, Along with the new steering stem bearings though.........:p

The cam chain tensioner has made a nice grungy oil mess over time and while I have the carbs out, figured might as well take care of it.

Now all I gotta do is try and get that stupid idle air screw tip outta that teeny tiny hole in #4 carb throat. It ain't gonna be fun.:mad:
 
There was a thread a couple weeks ago started by Hoomgar that went into removing the broken tips lodged in the carb throat. Do a search either by topic or by Hoomgar on the member's list. Complete with pictures!

Yeah, read that. It's the same principle, but the carbs are a different configuration. His was a straight shot. I have to get to the top of the carb throat for mine and it'll be at 90 degrees.

I'll get it though. I'm relentless and stubborn !! Inch by inch, anything's a cinch.
