A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 83' GS750ES has been delivered

Forum Mentor
Hi,I'm Bill and presently living in Davis,CA.
I was looking on this forum for a used GS for sale after having joined back in 2018' with a 1982' GS450TXZ.
I found a 1983' GS750ES that was for sale after looking at a link from CL posted here by a member;the bike was in Sterling,VA.I know it was far away from me but it looked so good even though it needs a good bit of work to get it operational.I got in touch with the seller who is a very decent man and asked him if nobody bought it please give me a call because I want it.
I had a lot of different ideas about possibly going to go get the bike myself but $ is still a struggle and then I started a thread about how to get the bike out here to me which gave me a few different ideas.I decided to have it shipped through a shipper which was recommended to me by a member. The bike just arrived this morning and the shipper has been paid in full.I now have a good bunch of work ahead of me before she's 'road ready'.The brake calipers need rebuilding as the bike drags heavily when I push her around the parking lot, especially backing-up.Do any of you know a good place online to purchase all the brake caliper rubber seals? I imagine the best is OEM Suzuki which has very good quality rubber parts. Bill

I've tried uploading pics of the bike off my phone onto this forum but I'm not able to.I'm not hooked-up with an image hosting site, I've never used one so far.I am technology-challenged when it comes to this stuff but I may be able to upload from my phone to the desktop? Someone mentioned it could be possible to resize the photos to upload to the forum that way.

Please get yourself a proper image hosting account. Flickr works well. Upload there and then link the IMG tag here so the photos show up in high resolution. The tiny low resolution photos as hosted here just plain suck.

Good luck with your project.

Ed,Flickr is a program I upload or a service I buy ?

Good News.

So the transport took about 3 weeks, but seems like you got a good price for the service.

Do yourself a favor and don't even try the start the bike until you go through all the various maintenance items including a full carb rebuild, tank cleanout, valve adjustment, and so on. Please check the Newbie Mistakes thread for a list of things to look out for. Once all that's done then there is a very good chance that the bike will start and run as expected. There is nothing worse than trying figure out what's going on with a misbehaving bike when the maintenance is not up to date.

Will do Ed.I want to be sure to look at everything and 'touch all the bases' to get it ready for the long haul.

I signed-up to flickr and have uploaded pics of the bike when it was first delivered to flickr.I want to upload them to this thread now, this will be a first-time using a hosting site, not quite sure how to go to the next step.

Click on the photo you want to share . When the photo pops up click on the arrow that points to the right at the bottom of the screen . Another box will show up ..... Across the top will be share,Embed,Email, and BBCode ...... Click on BBCode ..... In the lower box will be the size and an arrow pointing down..... Click on that and pick the size you want the photo to show as . You might have to experiment with that to get the hang of the size you want ..... Once that is done Click on the box with the url in it . It will turn blue ..... Then press CTRl and C together to copy it ..... Go back to the post you want to show it in and click on the place in your post you want the photo to be .... Press CTRL and V together to paste the photo ..... All done

Ok bccap and Ed,I've got those directions.
Can I upload multiple photos at once,or one at a time ?

Just remember, as far as I know, you can't access the BBCode from the mobile app. You need to be logged into the Flickr website. Most phones only allow access through the app and some tablets will allow access to the website as well as the app. Otherwise you'll need to use a computer.
