A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My New Look!

Thanks for the kind words, Joe. The bike looks great all back together again. It's got a cool factory and custom look to it at the same time. It was a pleasure working with you on it. ;)

Wow !! If that bike hasn't been bike of the month before, it sure should be. H*** even if it has it should be again with the new look !!

Awesome paint job and nice choice of colors ! :)

Looks nice but I think I prefer the blue. I was looking for a colour for the 550 project and I think the blue is it. Thanks for sharing and damn fine job guys.

Cheers,
Spyug

The bike looks nothing short of awesome with either colors but I'm with you on this. I like the blue better.
Less is more.

Don't get me wrong guys. I still love the blue and have a great appreciation for OEM paint schemes. The blue body work isn't going to go away. Keep in mind that I have been looking at the blue paint scheme for 28 years (one owner bike!) so I'm thrilled to have something different along with the option of going back to OEM.

Thanks,
Joe

That's really sharp. I like the way the silver emphasizes the engine.

Looks great! Is that seat cover from Sargent seats? Is that Supertrap still available anywhere?

A definite BOM if there ever was, love the new paint scheme! Makes me think, are either of those the "fast" color? :-)

very nice. what was your procedure for rebuilding the tabs? i'm going to work on mine this winter, thanks joe!!

When I did if I used aluminium angle cut to shape and epoxied in place. Works great and doesn't take long.
Posplayr did a good write-up on it here somewhere

Replacing all the rubbers and lube with some Vaseline or similar is well worth the effort too.
