    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My wife and I took a mini-vacation this weekend based out of Galena IL. It was my birthday weekend and, as usual, I wanted to do something Motorcycle related so we went to the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa IA. It was a nice museum housing around 300 bikes. They also had lots of pictures, brochures, toys, bicycles, and other oddities. Their collection is focused more on older bikes but also had a few from the 60's through 80's. Unfortunately there weren't many Suzukis or GSs. It was an enjoyable afternoon, more so for me than for Cathy. She is very understanding and tolerates my addiction well. Here are a few pics:

Charlie, why not build your own? Check out http://motorbicycling.com/
or google board track replicas. Replica board trackers can be built under $1000 to build, for simple ones. This particularly nice one, was built for around $2200, and used a motor mount kit for the Briggs V twin. They use modified beach cruiser bycycles as a base that can be bought new for about a hundred bucks at K-Mart

If you're ever in that area it is a great museum and well worth the visit.

Every biker/motorcycle enthusiast should go to Anamosa at least once. :)

Love the Kawi H1....seems like a real neat place....and better lit than Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, NC which i love.
 
When I was going to school in Iowa City my girlfriend (now wife) and I went up to see it. Even the drive from IC to Anamosa was really pretty. I think when I get my GS running it will be time to head up there again.

I particularly like the boardtrack display and the Rickman Metisse scrambler...
