A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have an AFX full face helmet. It's not bad, but sometimes I forget my sunglasses and ride into the sunset. Anyone know where I can get a tinted face shield for an AFX helmet? The model is an FX-10 if that helps.

Dennis Kirk stocks AFX parts, unless that helmet is 10 years old or something.

Of course, their web site is a hateful cluster(you-know-what), so you may need to look it up in one of their printed catalogs.

Can't answer the question, but methinks once you get a tinted shield you'll never go back, in the daytime anyway. Go for a long ride with others without one and see who has pink, sunburned cheeks at the end of the day and who doesn't.

Wringer... your sig is chock full o' win... I salute in your general direction :dancing:

OK, this is how bored I am... I have here the DK catalog, and they do indeed have a selection of shields and parts for the FX-10.

Part # 32-3212 is a smoke shield

Aw shucks, thanks! :D

IMHO tinted is good but mirrored is better.
My daily commute is into the sun both ways. I tried a smoked/tinted visor and was ok, but by far the best for into the sun riding was a mirrored visor (which also had a light tint as well).
Cheers

OK, fine they have mirrored shields in several hues as well...

Gold 32-3644
Silver 32-3645
Blue 32-4574
Green 32-4575
Clear Mirrored 32-4038

There's also a smoke gradient (32-5556) and what I'm sure is a fetching pink gradient (32-5795).

Thanks a lot. I know the mirrored shields cost more, but they look so much cooler. Now I can be like the Stig.
