A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi guys

Hoping someone can help....I can't find one anywhere in stock...
[HASHTAG="t844"]44300-47270[/HASHTAG]

Any ideas?

Thanks

That’s the one with the slot instead of the lever, right? I think www.georgefixs.com has them. Someone reported they don’t ship to Canada. I’m guessing you have a way around that though.

I've used Georgefix before. When I compared my old petcock with the new one I could not tell the difference. I don't know how but I think he's got a line on the originals ..... If he doesn't have one listed I'd bet he knows how to get one .....

All good...they had one but like Rich said. they don't ship to Canada....so I use Seawings to get it...https://www.seawings.ca/

Thanks again guys :)

Yeah .... When I bought from him I had it shipped to Point Roberts .....

Well I guess I spoke too soon...they just cancelled my order as it's on back order....any other thoughts? Thanks

What about 44300-45373?

It's showing for T, but, did the tanks change from 80 to 81?

I found it on my local dealers fiche.

These are a K&L reproduction petcock from all online suppliers. I have one of those petcocks ordered through Cycle Recycle. Also on backorder, but they did not cancel my order. Called them and they were told by K&L that they would ship middle of October. Then was updated to middle of November.... But they are still producing them, so I hope to get it sometime.

This looks like the one they used on the "Model X" generation. Tank mounted higher and there was more room to move the petcock towards the front. I believe the hole spacing is different also. Don't think it would work if you have the one without the lever.

It's weird that I can't use a petcock for an 81-82 GS750e is the exact same tank and for that matter so is the 80-81 gs1100e tanks

Don't know how accurate or up to date the info is but Alphasports.com. shows them as available for $128.00.

Wow....that would be $128us plus another $50us in shipping ....$250cdn to my door! Yikes

GOSH, $128???...Knowing many, for good reason, don't (won't) try a rebuild. But for $128 vs. $20, thinking if I didn't like it, I'd got to give it a try.

Cheap like borcsh. The one for my 1000 lists for around $430. Bet they don't sell many of those. Lol.

Those leverless petcocks have a rubber diaphragm in the back cover that fails. When that happens, you don't have a prime feature anymore. Unless the rebuild kit comes with a new back cover, forgetaboutit.

My buddy that owns a Suzuki dealership and classic GS's himself has found me one with a lever that comes with an "adapter" kit to fit my GS....he's ordered it from MC....I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks for all the help fellas, much appreciated. :)

Never had problems, other than the aggravation with those leverless petcock. Never a reason to have one apart. I will try to remember that info. about them. Hoping all works out Trev, Only neg. it won't be OEM, but for sure a better set up.
