I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

Earlier this season, I ordered a pair of Alpinestars S-MX 2 boots in size Euro 50 from BikeBandit. When they arrived here, they were WAY too big, even for my Euro size 50 feet. If I had to guess these would have to be a size 52 or 54, something I've never seen, even though they're labeled as 50's. I wear a size 15 in US sizes and there's about two inches of space left.

I called to return, and they said I had to ship them back at my cost, another $20+ dollars, and just order another pair of boots.

"How am I supposed to order another pair of boots, when the sizes are inconsistent and/or incorrect?", I asked.

The answer I got over and over was essentially, "Tough luck. Not our problem."

The CSR told me to send the boots back in their box since the original box they came in had a ton of parts in it and was now far too big. I did that, and when it arrived, it got rejected because the box they came in was damaged.

I called them up to find out what was happening, and again their response was, "Tough luck. Not our problem."

So now I've got a pair of boots that fit no one, that cost me an extra $20 due to the return shipping costs.

BB has always had great customer service as far as I've noticed, but this experience really torqued my nut. I'm done.

Wow, garbage. I've never used Bike Bandit for anything other than OEM parts, and even then only if I didn't need them in a timely fashion. It has taken 3-6 weeks for an order of mine to get processed. Sorry about such a crap experience, duly noted!

I would only use them for direct fit parts. I do buy alot of from them, but they do sometimes take a while. It seems like it takes 3 days for them just to process the order. What ****ed me off was I placed an order for a few parts, I accidently ordered 2 wrong bearings and had them cancel it 15 minutes later. They still banged me 20% handling even though they didnt even pull any parts.

That is totally bogus

Many of us order part from them. I have spent a fair chunk of money there. Maybe we should storm the gates a little on behalf of fellow members to pressure them to do a better job.

Just my thoughts.

Rick

I just really take exception to the "not my problem" attitude, especially when it comes to customer service.

I've ordered quite a few things from there. Never had any problems.

I say we all send them an email complaining on a fellow members behalf.:)

I've only used them once....took forever to get my parts.

I almost always order from flatoutmotorcycles for OEM. The guy that handles the parts is actually a member here and posts occasionally.
Sure, if a part is not in stock, it can take a while. But if they are in, I get them in a couple of days.

I just got new boots for the 1100E, took 3 days.

All that being said, I don't know their return policy.

For gear, I mostly buy from newenough...And I have been very happy with their return policy.

Wish this post had come in last week

I ordered parts from Bike Bandit last Thursday, hoping to get the parts I ordered by this Thursday. Well the rear brake pads were out of stock, so they sent me an email and I responded on Monday (Memorial Day) by email to switch out the semi metalic pads for the organic pads as those were in stock. The following day I called to be sure they had switched the pads out and they had not done anything despite 2 emails asking them to switch out the pads. Today is Friday and its now been over a week and still they have yet to send me any info stating that the pads or other parts have been shipped. At this point I think I would have been better to just go to the local dealer and order the stuff and I would have had it by now. Seeing that the posts say that they charge a 20% restocking fee on cancelled orders I guess Im going to have to wait to ride till they decide to get in the mood to actually pull the parts and ship them.

I would not recommend them if you need parts in less than 2 weeks, and will gladly be part of the email if anyone wants to send them a list of issues we all seem to be having with their service.

Like many others on the GSR I have used Bike Bandit for a lot of items, however I may have spent my last dollar there. I will be watching to see what if anything they end up doing for you UncleMike. They do have an obligation to correct the problem. I say we should all boycott them. Ray

I've never heard anything but garbage reports about them. You guys have trouble with them there, I'd certainly never use them and expect them to post O/S to me.
You should tell them that you're telling us Mike. You could even send them the link to this thread. If they know the huge amount of bad publicity that they're getting they may do something.

We know that you're not backwards in coming forwards - RIP INTO 'EM!!!!!

They've already said that they outright refuse to do anything with vomitous platitudes like "it's out of our hands" and "there's nothing we can do".

My response?

"There's plenty you could do, but there's nothing you will do. Instead, you'd rather hide behind 'corporate policy' rather than treating your customers like human beings."

I am going to email them and maybe even call them today.

If they blow off GSR folks they just may lose a small but significant portion of their revenue since we all buy old bikes that need parts.

Rick

It's not a bad idea. I'm wondering if people on other sites have had similar experiences...

I just emailed this to bike bandit. If they respond I can point them to this thread or list specific grievances.

"I just wanted to bring to your attention that there are a number of GSR members (http://www.thegsresources.com/
that are not happy with your customer service (returns, extra fees, delivery times etc.). There is currently a thread being written sharing problematic situations that are causing members to potentially no longer order from your company. We would like you to address our concerns. If not addressed you may lose a fair number of committed customers and earn a bad name for your company. Please let me know if you are willing to work with us on this." Rick

I sent one too

Dear bike bandit

You suck
sincerley yours ..................skip blahdeblah

"vomitous platitudes"......delightful terminology, Mike. :)
Would you mind if I were to regurgitate that elsewhere?

I bought things from BikeBandit in years past, but also had difficulty every time I tried in the last two years, partly because of site changes and partly with telephone conversations, although not for returns....I just could not buy what I wanted, or the prices and shipping were markedly above other sources. Today I don't bother with them at all.

Gear for me and anyone else who asks me about it now comes from newenough, and their service never draws a complaint. Prices are also very good, especially if the clearance items suit you. (pun intended)

I suppose you could try selling the boots on e-bay as " Special Size Bike Bandit Booties". (That should get more attention than "boots") State that the size is not as marked in these brand new boots, and add in the comments section that you are forced to sell this way because B-B refused the return of the unused boots, then give the actual measurements.

Size charts that permit measurement-to-size determination are available, such as this one, which goes up to size US 15, but many others are available on-line..

babbits online

babbits online

I'm going to put my two cents in here if you don't mind.

It doesn't have anything to do with boots, but it does have a lot to do with customer service.

I am working on a 82 virago 920 for my nephew. he needed some intake o-rings and caliper kits, so I told him to try babbitts, having heard good things about them from Bwringer and figuring that if there was a problem :) it would be on his dime.

when the order was placed the stated delivery time was 7-10 days, the parts arrived in 5 days. because of his experience, it looks like I will be ordering around $200 with them in the next few weeks.

I have used Mrcycles ($1500) and alpha-sports ($300) in the past with good results, but I had never used BB.

I wouldn't even consider them now...
